Thank you very much! You helped me understand better the idea of capitalism. Im learning about different economic systems so I can form an opinion about the best. So far, even tho capitalism has its cons.. I going with it for now, but I still have to learn about other systems. Thank you very much for this video! Have a great day!

Sounds like we need an equal balance of government regulations not motivated by greed and capitalist businesses that are scrutinized by these regulations with an unbiased party to mandate these regulations

Yep like everything...the answer is in the middle...need competition to push things forward but you can't just let it run wild and exploit everyone

I am quite late but here goes. Also I apologize for the paragraph. I agree that capitalism has its issues, but to my knowledge there is no known example of socialism or communism in history that has worked out in any sort of long term, it is an ideal that works out on paper but fails in reality. Socialism and Communism to my knowledge have usually led to the government having complete control over its people, and those people suffering for it. In the US we have tried to deal with some issues brought on with capitalism, for instance we did attempt to take care of the monopoly issue after the coal and steel monopolies in the gilded age. Sadly now disney, amazon, google, and one or two other companies, basically own everything. Other companies don't have much chance to break into those markets, and if they do, it typically ends with disney or somebody else buying them for a few billion. I think that instead of aspiring for an ideal like communism and socialism, people should try and find logical solutions to fix some of the issues with capitalism, or to at least lessen their effect. (Note I typed this off the top of my head and did not do prior research, if you have an example of long term socialism or communism working, I would love to see it, it sounds interesting. I am not here to argue but to discuss)

Very good / interesting video. I know this isn't the purpose or scope of this video, but I'd challenge everyone to present a system which doesn't have the same problems as capitalism; or at least the same eventual declines or outcomes. That is because these systems don't have motivations in and of themselves. They are run by people who have varying, and sometimes conflicting, motivations. That fact alone is why, no matter what system we talk about, they will all eventually be infiltrated by wicked or well-intentioned-but-misguided people. Greed, decadence, self-serving, selfishness, elitism, and just plain ignorance plague them all, and they are not exclusive to capitalism. I think the questions we should be asking ourselves are: 1. What system gives the greatest opportunity / power to the greatest number of people?; 2. Which one provides for the most checks or hurdles against an organized evil?; 3. What am I doing, or can I do to contribute to the good and to resist the evils that can so subtly creep in to twist my motivations, and thereby corrupt that or any other system? Personally, I believe if Jesus Christ ran it, almost any system would be a good one. But since we have a world run by folks just like the rest of us, there needs to be something that de-centralizes and spreads the power and opportunity across the greatest number of people possible. If someone can either point to a better system than the one we have here, suggest ways to improve on our current system, or come up with something entirely new which takes the good of capitalism and improves upon it while neutering the wicked motivations which gobble up the masses eventually... well then, I'm all ears. Until then I say, "Lord, let your life shine through mine." and, "Come quickly Lord Jesus!"

2:47 I disagree when you say "Capitalism provides Freedom" because the Wealthy has more power in choosing what stays on the market of supply and demand since they have more money. Also, the large majority of the poor stays poor, and many can't afford basic needs like housing and health care. That's not freedom. Also, Wealthy countries are hoarding the Covid-19 from poor countries: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rJ3Go5ypiLigaZY
