Again, this series desperately needs: 1) Live fact checking 2) Better moderation 3) Better preparation from the participants (encourage them to come with stats and articles and numbers) So many of these discussions go off the rails bc people are saying things that either aren't true or aren't on prompt and it's so frustrating.

Often times it seems like they select people who are knowledgeable on their opinion, only on one side, just like in the Palestine one a few days ago. They should have had Palestinians from Gaza or the West Bank, who had lived experiences to speak. Not “my aunt” story. The amount of lies that went unchecked was gross.

I disagree, placing the burden of fact checking on jubilee is a dangerous thing. They’re supposed to only be the medium, if they suddenly begin shutting people down, the conversation would devolve. Secondly, certain so called “fact checkers” might have vested interest in individual subjects. In the end, the responsibility of fact checking always comes back to you.

It’s really annoying when a conversation starts actually getting somewhere or someone is making their point and they eventually just cut to the next prompt. They’ve done it much more often recently and then started charging you to go watch their full version. I don’t want to pay for the full version if it’s still gonna be lackluster question topics, people consistently cutting each other off with no moderation and their arguments eventually getting cut off to get to the next topic. I would pay/support if it meant the quality would be better but it’s literally the same video with an extra topic.

The problem is that the communist side in this video is basing all of their ideas on what they read in ideological books as opposed to the reality but judge capitalism based on the reality as opposed to the ideological writings. Marx would always paint a rosier picture of his own ideology than the reality of applying said ideology.
@bigbeau1758
@bigbeau1758 24 күн бұрын
The reality was never what Marx said. It contradicted his basic principles of workers control and not once did they ever try to become truly socialist or communist in depth. America on the other hand is both forged by liberalism and suffering.

fr, when arguing for capitalism you're meant to argue for the system with potential flaws and all, not the monopoly free paradise described in writings, while when communism is argued they can simply say real communism hasn't existed without even addressing why every attempt falls short. The capitalist could easily say "true capitalism has never existed either as its described in ideological writings" then paint a picture which solves all current criticisms of the system by quoting adam smith.

Well, actually if you look at the poorest countries in the world the vast majority of them are not socialist/ communist. So we actually can look at real world data such as the global poverty index. Likewise while there is no pure country of any type such as pure capitalist as so for the countries that consistently rank the happiest are more socialistic counties such as the various Scandinavian countries like Norway, etc. Shall we look at healthcare rankings? I'm don't mean cost because more capitalist countries like the U.S. rank number 1 in cost. I mean health care quality. Capitalism isn't winning on that one either.

Meaning? That analogy is hard to grasp. Is it that they both live in water? Is it that one side has an advantage over the other? China is a single party state, with officials wielding far too much power and citizens having barely any rights, but truthfully, is only Communist in name; it’s not Communist at all. It was once under Mao but his successors realized how worthless the actual policies of Communism were. Now it’s basically a dictator-run Han people ethnic state.

Capitalism is the son of slavery. It’s a very similar exploitative system which exploits the lower class and is in complete control. How do you quantify the value of someone’s work or ability to work? The same system exploited minorities for years after slavery was abolished thru contracts with former slaves. You still have modern day slavery through capitalism via private prisons. Honestly brother molombo probably knew all that. He probably didn’t wanna go there on the slavery topic seeing as he’s the only brother there.

I don’t think that any of these people has been outside any big city in China. It’s night and day. You go from a modern city to seeing carts pulled by oxen and people toiling the land by hand and ox. It’s a jarring juxtaposition on the privilege that city residents have vs those that are not allowed to live there. Make no mistake, people are not allowed to just pick up and move to wherever they want in Beigin or any other cities.

Honestly they need to cast people that are capable of having a conversation, not just people that passionate talk at each other. Can’t sit through this ep. The best one of these I’ve watched was the alpha vs beta males because both sides listened to each other and there was a sense of understanding and respect from both sides throughout, even when they disagreed. Basically they managed to have a successful conversation.

Are we not gonna talk how Yugoslavia prospered as a Communist country until Tito died? Fact is that Communism can be done correctly if the government isn't corrupt which they usually are in countries such as Russia... In the USSR Stalin was very paranoid and the previous Soviet leader Lenin did say that if they put Stalin in charge, things would go bad very quickly. The obvious pattern is that leaders are usually the ones with issues and that needs to be fixed somehow.

People don’t realise that a dictatorship is an extreme version of a system that makes it impossible for the country to change its ways. There are capitalist dictatorships too, which is where an entire country is extremely into capitalism. The capitalist extremism works with democracy, so the rights of people aren’t being infringed like the communist extremist countries. Honestly they need to do a middle ground where communists living under capitalism debate defectors of communist countries on the communist system. For the communists under capitalism side they should get an… -American -British -Australian -Israeli -South Korean -person from Botswana -New Zealander For the defectors of communist countries they should get a… -Chinese -Russian -Cuban -Arab -North Korean -person from Laos -Vietnamese

So basically she just admitted that she comes from the rich class that rules over the people in China who can't come and go easily who's $2 a day wage makes it impossible for them to even afford a singe plane ticket. Communism has females equal in out of home work but not at home. Even in "ideal" communism sex relations where women like Angela Merkel get advanced degrees and rise to leadership those cultures still expected the women to do that AND all the cooking, cleaning etc unless they can afford to pay other women to do all those "female " chores.
