I almost moved to Audubon in Magnolia, but finally realized it was too far away from family, friends, etc. and traffic probably was only going to get worse, so gave up on the idea of the deep north and conroe area - just too far away for me. I love that area out there, though, and the houses are tens of thousands of dollars cheaper for the same builder/model than out west/nw/sw.

Exactly! It’s beautiful and you can get a larger reasonably priced home…but you will be far removed from a lot of conveniences.
