Thank you for posting this. I just recently got discharged from the hospital I spent 99.9 percent of my time up on the pediatric unit I believe it was the trauma unit I got attached to the nurses and the floor and I miss the floor and the nurses. As of this last hospital stay I've decided to go back to school to become a RN but first I want to start out as a phlebotomist and then go to CNA and then RN I want to work in both the children's and adult ICU. I enjoyed watching the nurses do what they did to me I did bring them a little something to thank them for what they did for me I went to the store bought some fake flowers and brought them up after my last doctors appointment that I had they were glad to see me. I've been wanting to go back up to them and ask them questions about about their jobs so that I can learn more about this.

Thank you for the video Maddy! Just a suggestion for future videos, the music is a little bit distracting, perhaps lower the volume down a bit? Thank you again

I forgot to mention that the reason I was in the hospital was because my appendix burst back in August 28 of this year plus I have a shunt the surgeon took it out because she was worried that the infection might have gotten into the tube and into my brain so 2 and a half weeks into my stay I got transferred down to the adult ICU and that Sunday the night charge nurse came to me and said I have good news for you your going back up to the Pediatric unit that's where I spent the last few days I had surgery to put my shunt back in that Wednesday. The night I got transferred down stairs I had Immediate separation anxiety.

Would you say the training in the hospital prepared you after becoming a nurse or working as a CNA & seeing it beforehand?

Oh man…in terms of mental preparedness and getting used to the environment being a CNA. Obviously the knowledge from nursing school was vital and I lucked out with a few good nursing professors. But being a CNA in the ICU by far was the best decision I ever made
