My husband is soon planning to get interviewed to work as a doctor in this area. We only have his student loan debt. Hmmm but this high price is scaring me. Do you think we will be able to afford a decent house ? Does it snow really heavy that it gets difficult to drive around ? When snow starts and how long it lasts? And most importantly, will we find good non denominational church ? My husband thinks we will be fine but I am a bit worried. This place looks definitely out of this world.

In Coeur d’Alene the snow doesn’t really accumulate that much. There are several great churches and a handful that are non-denominational. Prices have certainly gone up in the past five years, but I don’t think you’d have a problem finding a good home. If you love the outdoors and a great community, this is a hard place to beat. I’m happy to jump on a zoom call with both of you to answer more questions. My number is 208-400-6162.

everything from ~50 seconds to 1:15 is changing quickly. Graffiti is much more prominent, the homeless are more overt, etc... $17 hamburgers in downtown exemplify the shift. The massive influx of coasters over the last five years has brought its problems with it.
@Ben_Genaetta2 ай бұрын
those shifts are hard to miss. How do you think the area can balance growth while keeping its original character?”

Appreciate your take on things. Speaking as someone who got pushed out of the state they grew up in because of rising costs, overarching government regulations/intrusions and crazy ideologies infecting schools and the workplace, CDA is an interesting place. It is not for everyone, in fact, it's hard to say who it might be perfect for. Older retirees with a nest egg, sure, but it better be a big enough nest egg to also have a place down south for the winters, because the winters will tap you. So for such people, either be extremely mobile or highly introvert and comfortable with long stents bundling up at home due to darkness and cold. Cost of living has increased since 2018-2019, yet salaries have not. We call them "Idaho Dollars" and businesses here are used to paying them and still act like the cost of living is low. I worked for a time in downtown CDA and my industry's best offer was a 30-35% pay reduction from where I came from. CDA is best for younger, career established, remote workers who get their paychecks from a company that is based in a state that pays high salaries. If that person, you would love this place if you are active, love nature and ski or have some other activities that get you out during the winter. The con of conservative values is a bit off in my opinion. A real assessment for me is that CDA proper is more like a 60%40% leading left as most artsy tourist towns of grayed hair hippies do lean left. There are nice people on both sides but, and this is a big but, at least 50% will be locked into their ideologies. The people of CDA and the pan handle are not as friendly and welcoming as described in this video. Sorry, but the society up here has some real issues. One half are snobbish because they believe they are better by their ideology and the other half literally hate that you moved to their land. So no matter what ideology you have, you will cross paths with someone who will be rude to you in some way. Other than that, enjoy your time here! But definitely, do not judge CDA by your summer vacation. It is actually a quiet town on average. Good luck.

I’m in Cda. Grew up here for the most part. Moved to Spokane and it’s god awful! The people chase you down the steeet thinking can get them hooked up. And everyone knows everyone and they pretend they don’t while they gas light you. And if you just hop over here to Cda, it’s a much politer gas lighting situation 😂.

Why do people always assume California doesn't get snow? Areas of California get some of the most snow in the US. Cannot wait to get out of this state, but so many misconceptions.
@Ben_GenaettaАй бұрын
Most people I talk with and help relocate to ID from CA are coming for San Diego and the Bay Area which doesn’t get snow. Yes, there are certainly places in CA that get hammered but that is not who I’m speaking to. Are you considering Idaho as a move?
@ryanmccormack4812Ай бұрын
@Ben_Genaetta It is a possibility, but not for another handful of years. Northern Idaho or Western Montana is our most likely destination.

I grew up in Buffalo, NY and moved here after 18 years in NYC. I'm good with the cold and snow and I got away from the leftists. Honestly, there's still too many leftists here. You didn't mention bears, moose etc as a con.

I live in Spokane I don’t go to Coeur d’Alene it’s just as big of a crap hole just like Spokane don’t go to Sandpoint either to many people there’s so many other good places to go to Idaho👍

@@Ben_Genaetta yeah 25 years ago I used to like to go to Coeur d’Alene in Sandpoint now it’s just overpopulated just like Spokane beautiful places don’t get me wrong but I don’t. I’d rather go somewhere else in Idaho southern panhandle more quieter like I said been in this area almost 40 years out of my 55 years being alive.

@@Ben_Genaetta A couple weeks ago I was driving in southern Benewah County. I stayed overnight at McCroskey State Park. Talked to two couples, one from Sandpoint and one from Tekoa, Washington. Both told me this was Trump Country. Before I got to that park I went on a road with a sort of compound with three flags on a pole, top one was American Flag, next one down was a Trump flag and the bottom was Idaho state flag. I know about Rawles and the American Redoubt. And I know that the Redoubt Newsletter talks about your area being a place for the remnant or a place of refuge for white Christians, conservatives and Christian nationalism. When I drove to Moscow, I talked to a guy on a sidewalk who was good friends of Doug Wilson, the pastor who wants to stop Moscow from being the only blue dot in a red state and he is also a Christian nationalist with he said, has contacts in North Idaho. I know you have militias such as the Light Foot Militia. And I'm not a democrat. I just don't like hatred like what conservatives are spreading. I can't even vote in a state primary. I'm from a milder county. No militias. A bit rough in the past but not so much now.
