I left in ‘74. Still all cane fields. Two-lane, Ft. Weaver Rd. Lived on Pohakupuna Rd. Starlite Lanes, C.M. Tanaka store, Barney’s Burgerhouse, Sloop John B’s., all gone now. 6,000 people in old ‘Ewa Beach, 2,000 in old ‘Ewa, the rest of the plain was cane. Great memories. Thanks for the video!

Sounds like the perfect area to live for retirees, plus, the terrain is flat, no walking uphill in the hot steaming sun , like I did that day last year when we went to see the apartment that was suppose to be waiting for us. We got off the bus at Kapiolani and Ward, walked 9 blocks uphill to Kinau street , oh man, my bad left knee , bad back, my asthma all kicked in with the 90 degree weather that day, I thought I wasn't going to make it , but thank God i did.
