I lived here in memphis for almost 35 years never been car jacked robbed none of those things EVER!!! Never even had a confrontation and my job have me all over memphis the nice sides and the bad. Just use your common sense don’t let a stranger in your car, don’t walk around counting money and you’ll be just fine.

I'm glad I moved back home. Im a born & raised Memphian. And even tho my car was stolen a few months ago and my truck was vandalized, I still think I made the right decision to come back here. I just have to find a house with a 2 car garage to protect my vehicles. Other than that I have no issues being here. Wish me luck. 🙏🏽

I don’t remember hearing you mention the awesome food Memphis has. Central BBQ, The Rendezvous, Gus’s World Famous Fried Chicken, Gibson’s Donuts, Huey’s…. So many great places to eat. I guess it’s a pro and a con because it’s hard to stay at a healthy weight while living here. Also, that great aquifer helps to make some wonderful local craft beers. There are many local breweries to check out for those that enjoy beer.

So far so good with this channel, thanks! So, I’m moving to Memphis between Feb or March. Already looked where to live and I think Collierville will be the place. But, something that has me worried is the crime rate as other channels or even the internet point out as a big Con. I wonder why aren’t you including it. What is the real thing about it. Thanks

I was born and raised in Memphis, but moved to Mayberry, NC for many years then back to Memphis for 10- Memphis has all the Pros and more than you mentioned; especially, the Zoo. but I moved back to small town Mayberry because the crime is spreading EVERYWHERE! I was robbed in broad daylight in front of a Walgreen’s- Good Luck getting any justice in Memphis because the court systems are so backed up from all the murders. Sorry, but it’s the truth. It doesn’t matter where you live in Shelby Co- you are a target in every location. Money can’t buy you safety in Memphis.

Is Memphis good for veterans? The Millington naval base is nearby and I'm a Navy vet.
@MovingToMemphis
@MovingToMemphis 2 жыл бұрын
I may be biased but I believe its great. Everything you need is close and taxes are in general some of the lowest in the country. If you want to be close to the base there in Millington, There are some great options in south tipton county or over toward arlington/lakeland that are fairly short drives. I've heard the base has a pretty nice golf course with a renovated clubhouse as well!

I would honestly say don’t move to Memphis unless your moving closer to Germantown area or collierville Cordova isn’t what it used to be stray away from north and south memphis and parts of east Memphis. If you are going sight seeing do it during the day because once nightfall hits more people start cutting up. Midtown is a nice seen at night got a few bars and clubs downtown is cool but you have to be watchful at night the events here are decent but you have to be on your p’s and q’s cars here get stolen a lot especially if it’s a dodge or an Infiniti. The list goes on for cons but pros we have a decent zoo currently getting updated with a small water park and they have mini events on holidays Shelby farms is cool riverside is decent we have plenty of museums and historical land marks.

We have 420 supply shops but the flower is still illegal in TN. $7.25 is minimum wage but there is a proposed bill to gradually raise it over the coming years. However, every help wanted sign I see shows starting starting wages around $13-15hr. Thanks for watching and commenting Esther!

Memphis a horrible city. I've lived here over 7 years. My fiance is from this area. The most violent city two years in a row. Broke our homicide record two years in a row also. Nothing to do. If you do want to do something, you have to worry about being carjacked or robbed. Shopping is garbage, it's all run down and geared for hood. Shelby Farms is basically the only positive but still have to worry about bring robbed. I was stabbed downtown almost 3 years ago. There is basically no reason to ever move here. Ever. Its a dead city.

@@MovingToMemphis I'm sorry, I'm really trying to not to laugh. There is nothing positive about Memphis. The crime is getting alot worse. There is a possibility of a super extreme left DA getting elected and then the crime will really go insane. The county mayor hates law enforcement and is horrible at running the county. People are constantly getting carjacked in all areas of memphis. Cars are stolen and broke into at a ridiculous rate. The malls are pure ghetto trash. People being shot on beale st. I can keep going. Memphis has no tax base because most of them take from the government. It will NEVER improve. You can believe that nonsense if you want but you shouldn't tell a fairytale to people.
