In this video, I go over the pros and cons of UCSB. I talk about topics such as classes, housing, food, the location, as well as show you what these things actually look like

Con - The Food/Pricing - Heres a tip, no matter your parents income, apply for CALFRESH (aka, food stamps) They go off of where YOU are living, so if you're in dorms, leasings in IV, apply, thats $150+ in free money for food a month. I missed out on the first quarter there, but after that it was soooo relieving to go to albertsons/costco and have money to get some food that would last me a real long time (Chicken and rice were the GOATS) Apply for ORGs/ CollegePrograms, like EOP, or if you're a transfer student (who came from a community college) theres programs for that as well, get involved, thats one con/regret I miss out on. Also - TRY OTHER CLASSES, don't stick to just your major or closely related to your major, venture out, try a history class / upper div history class, they get fun as hell. And whoever goes to UCSB, enjoy it, venture out of the college, head outside of IV, go to Coal Oil Point to sands beach, find a good spot and enjoy the sunset after a long day of classes, you won't regret it, it was almost a daily thing for me was to just walk 10+ minutes, sit down, just enjoy and return to normal college life (Its also fun going at night, take some friends)

Thank you, I am a psychology major and I absolutely hate quarter system due to some learning draw backs I have.

is the quarter system stressing? i’m majoring in biology and worried i might be stressed out and that’ll be too difficult 😅

you'll get used to it don't worry.

Personally I found it to be ok as long as you balance your workload. As the other comment said, you might take a quarter or two to get used to it but it won't seem as bad as time goes on
