Thank you Clare! I have heard from several other physicians now that fillers do indeed stick around for much longer than initially thought. I have also seen several people that had filler removed decades later as it started to get discolored under the skin. I feel like as much as we know today, these are still all very new substances that are being injected into the body. And even your two lovely guests today (which I adore and respect for their views) don't know with 100% certainty what the long term implications may be. I personally have been researching PRF injections/fillers. Not sure if I will ever do any of it - but PRF (platelet rich fibrin) is derived from your own blood, spun, and just the fibrin portion is injected as "filler". Due to it being from your body, you eliminate a lot of risks. The body eventually reabsorbs it, but builds collagen in the area in the meantime. Thank you again for providing informative relatable content. .. Blessings

Of course Doctors have different opinions on almost all treatments for your body and brain. Plastic Surgeons disagree with using ANY energy treatments or most fillers. They only want you to have surgery. Just follow one or two to see the major difference. The more education one gets the more they know and the more treatments they do the more experienced they are in THOSE treatments.

Great video, thank you. When you get the opportunity again to speak with the experts, please ask about the various acid peels, and if they have any effect on fillers. I’d like to get a mid-level peel to help with acne scars, but I don’t want to dissolve my fillers.
@thehonestchannel

Hi. I think now they’re putting filler deeper into the skin and closer to the bone that would be less of an issue, but I’ll definitely aim to do a video soon on acid peels. 👍

Thanks for this video! I got fillers at a renowned and very credible plastic surgeons office about a year and a half ago originally for my jaw only and was talked into getting it on my chin too. I immediately hated the chin and was horrified to learn I had to wait 5 weeks to get it disolved. On top of that, I was terrified of getting them disolved because of the horror stories online. Fast forward 5 weeks I went back to a different clinic (the clinic I was already going to for years and should have stayed with) and had 3 sessions of hylenex spaced I think 2 weeks apart. The filler disolved and while I personally do feel my face aged somewhat, I’m not sure if it was the extreme stress and depression I experienced during those roughly 2-3 months (also made a ton of hair fall out) or if it was the hylenex. Today, a year and a half later - people are always shocked when I tell them I’m 32 and they say they swore I was in my mid 20s. I’ve moved on from whatever happened to my face with that experience. I will get filler again in my jaw but not my chin and I would advise anyone getting fillers to stick with a trusted place that is conservative rather than the social media spots which I fell into.

They used to use silicone in Europe. Older models used it 50 to 60 years ago. They also used it for breast enlargements in the 70's.

If i may ask Dr Qian, you said you don't inject superficially now so how would you treat nasolabial folds? Thank you.
@thehonestchannel
@thehonestchannel Жыл бұрын
I will ask! I think she meant that she now goes deeper rather than injecting superficially into the fold, for a more natural look - so they’re aiming for the bone and not the surface. I’ll double check though.

Dr Qian has come back to say for a natural look, she injects into the alar fossa at the base of the nose. This softens the folds but they don't disappear so she would usually offer a skin tightening treatment alongside the filler.

My goodness, one Dr I consulted with said he wouldn’t touch juvederm which is what Claire had. Why didn’t they mention Redensity 2 as the only one licensed in the Uk for under eye and why didn’t they talk about the one with FDA approval who many are saying is the greatest of all time and the absolute GOAT called Revanesse. Apparently it doesn’t migrate. It’s like the top gun!

Have you been consider to do face lift surgery? What age if this is part of your plan?
@thehonestchannel
@thehonestchannel Жыл бұрын
I wouldn’t rule that out but don’t feel I need it right now. The only thing I would consider is an eye lift but I don’t want to drastically change the way I look in case I don’t like it. I think I’ll just know if/when the time is right - and it will depend on finances too.

@@thehonestchannel Thanks! L❤️ve your channel. Can you explore the truth about AGE's (advanced glycation end products) and its effect on skin? Some evidence indicates that food that has been made brown through frying or grilling (Malliard Effect) is the culprit while other research says that it's not the food and that the glycation comes from the intestines. This second theory states that glycation is coming from a high glucose to sucrose ratio. This has been named fructosis.
