Just saw a Chinese review of Bravia 9 showing real movie footage. Particularly the latest Batman movie with really dark scene HDR filmed in a dark room. Zero blooming and bright highlights it was effing awesome. Looked like an OLED in that footage. The KZbinrs name is "Post76". Enable CC for subs. So it has come to a point now where MiniLEDs like Bravia XR90 can be in a dark room and show a movie like the Robert Pattinson Batman movie, which is notoriously dark and show it all and massive bright highlights without basically any blooming. So the only thing left with OLED is those very hard dark scenes with a lot of small lights. The "micro-contrast". But in that review we see the Taylor Swift ERA footage and it's thousands of small lights in audience and lights from stage and the rest is black. Well I think maybe some mild blooming could be seen, but I am not even sure. That is how well it did it. And if it has come to that point that a MiniLED can in a DARK room handle it to 90% of an OLED in a scene that you'd only see 0.5% of the time of all your movies and content. But the over all HDR impact is bigger. Well sign me up for a Bravia 9. I sit in a light controlled, pretty dimly lit room. But it has some ambient bias lighting behind the TV. In that setting B9 would likely be indistinguishable from an OLED and yet have the HDR brightness advantage. This is happening with MiniLED only being on the market for 3-4 years. The advancement is moving fast. We need to see Bravia XR70 against this lineup (remove QM8 23) and then when Bravia 9 XR90 comes out. Lets see how it does. I think the XR70 alone would beat all of them except the OLEDS. The XR90 will beat all of them and rival the OLEDs and beat them on brightness.

Well said. I have seen U8N, U9N on Asian site with review content there is NO blooming lol :) i think 0% chinese person will ever use Film Maker Mode. Asians are like “why do white ppl eat medium rare steak” 🥩 , QD-OLED n mini LED are just nicer color :) from this video.

@@NexGenTek It was pretty spectacular in all that footage show. The Taylor content, I mean maybe a tiny hint of blooming, but it's so minute I couldn't tell if it was or simply a part of the image. I don't even need reviews to know I am getting a Bravia 9. It's just a matter of 75 or 85" for me. That said I do want to see review for fun.

Yes you are right. I always feel mini led's for sports and hdr are unmatcable but in large sizes of 85inches is where they shine. I had the qn900 abc 😅 if not for dse b and especially c after upgrades are vibrant and colourful in bright room. Qn900d has gone a step ahead and looks even better and its processor gives it a little extra push. Qn900d had ordered but cancelled dse in large screens and returning is one hell of a job. Samsung dosent even care for DSE in quality control. Here is where sony is better with dse for its flagships and with Bravia 9 well hope it lives up to the hype because what happened with A95L after so many awards still dolby vision issues though bravia 9will be great but still hope to see the content playing on it. Till then bravia 9 is like all guns blazing at least in anticipation. One thing more I may sound wrong for many but what we see with our eyes in every day life, the reality of colours is much closer to LEDs than oleds which are too made up it seems.

I'm going to post my experience on my U8N but before I do that. I want to complain about my old Vizio regular Led M7 50" before giving it away on Saturday. On Friday night I watched a movie in 16.1 ratio letter box with only 30 LDZ. Let me tell you black was never black on any picture it was a lot of deep dark grey. So it also turned black bars into grey bars with a lot of blooming cross over. Last night I watched the movie X from 2022. They put in the movie 480i crt picture frames with huge black bars to fill the screen. I would like to say with mini leds no matter how good they are, the cons will never have the same pro to any oled from no blooming or halo effects. Mini leds pros are where there is minor blooming miniscule halo if you can spot it there is far deep black contrast that regular leds panels can never reach. I think mini leds are superior to regular leds but still oleds are superior to both. That should the fairest standard for TV reviewers. Yeah maybe TCL does it better but the TCL QM8 doesn't come in the 55" and the QM7 as other draw backs. The U8N and Bravia 9 have the least blooming. I can except that when it happens on black bars I will be happy to deep black bars. Compared to black black not turning grey. I watched a white buffering circle from Max when I would rewind frames that the loading buffering circle created no halo effects around it. Also watching X on the credits, the 672 local dimming had blooming but it still made the credit look natural with backlighting, more like stage lit rather than direct white light on black. Hisense U8N with Google TV is better. I can also download app and uninstall pre installed apps. With Vizio they do it and won't let you uninstall any approve. make a search engine. I have far more settings than Vizio allows. I still might in 2027 upgade to the G series. Right now I don't mind the DSE issue. It is minor from what Vizio had. That's still going to be a $2000 expense over what I have. As I get older is a 2 year debt plan worth it for an LG oled?

You would expect so for the price. Someone getting a great deal on one of these Tvs if coming from a LCD. They are going to be so happy. That's what really matters. I'm not American see list price of QM8 85" is $1600. Someone getting that for a grand down the road, Is well happy. Plus for a lot of content , vibrant cartoons , most middle of road stuff it will look pretty close. For that buyer the details in black areas will be a revelations from the grey dimness of their old LCD. I think the Bravia 9 will look pretty stunning, with fewer weaknesses. I'm neutral on Sony as they can be a brutal company on consumer rights. But I hope it's really good. The more better TVs and tech the better. It's great Hisense and TCL are bringing good options. The threat to enthusiasts , top flagships will go up in price , non-made and become niche. Think that's why the Bravia 7 is maybe a more important TV for Sony. At the moment it means even Sony discounted 1 year later and keeping the price to an OK amount

I was missing a whole part of White light in Attila. The U8 N is showing me so much how it looks better than other panels and it will look flat when it comes to orange. The Orange Astronaut demo is fantastic but from movies it doesn't have much pop. But that said it also looks more natural with a flat look than saturation look. For under $900.00 I can live with it. The thing is I'm watching this whole video on a Vizio M-7. I really need a U8 N to really see some better details that I'm not seeing because my Vizio doesn't measure up to mini LED quality.
