One thing I’m considering is a law degree . You only need a bachelors and a passing grade on LSAT to start. Or you could get a paralegal certificate from a university (usually $1000 to $3000) and work as a paralegal. An accounting degree would be beneficial in either of those positions.

Getting my nieces into it too. As a black woman accounting/tax/audit have been great for me. I would say the benefit of the CPA is that if it comes down to you and another candidate without it, I've gotten the job. I realized how stable being an accountant was when I left a toxic job and found a new one in less than 6 weeks. If you’re on LinkedIn recruiters will come to you, whether you want them or not. Accounting may not be the “sexiest” job in the world but it’s definitely going to afford you the life you want and makes it easy for you start your own. Close can be a b*tch! When I first arrived, I was offered a really competitive salary and a paid apartment on the main island in AD. But year after year it gets harder. The other part to that is the country has always outsourced labor, but are now looking for countries whose citizens will go to UAE and work for the lowest of the lowest salaries. I would pay attention to what you’re interested in and then see how you can create that into a career. I did one marketing class in the midst of all of my accounting classes when I was in undergrad. That marketing class brightened my day every time I went to it and I absolutely loved it. But instead of me changing my major to marketing, I stuck with accounting and I do not like my job. Now, everything I do in my side hustle is marketing related. If I would’ve paid attention to what I love instead of what could make me money, I would not only be making money right now as a full-time marketer but I would also really enjoy what I do for a living. That’s why I say pay attention to what it is you already love doing, research that topic, and see how you can create that into a career that makes you money so you can enjoy what you do for a living.
