After 11 years in Atlanta, I’d had enough of the traffic and backwoods mentality. Moved to Chattanooga almost 25 years ago. It was a good choice and the longest I’ve ever lived in one place. Pretty scenery. Low cost of living. Decent climate. Nice people, walkable downtown and close proximity to other locations. The only drawback is the pollen. Never had allergies until I moved here.

You forgot proximity to Birmingham, cruise ports, Amusement Parks, Professional Baseball-Football-Basketball close to us. I have lived in Berlin, Germany for 2 years, Colorado Springs for 2 years and Augusta, GA for 5 years. Driving a truck my wife and I have been in every continental state. Chattanooga is where I was lucky enough to be born, and where I truly choose to live. It has massively changed in my 57 years, most all of change was to make it better, the river walk, the Parks and recreation, the mountains, the just right downtown not too big or too small. I know you like Chattanooga and glad you are here. Oh, we cruise out of Port Canaveral about 9 hours away, and a few times out of Miami, but a future cruise is out of New Orleans! Closer than Port Canaveral and we get to experience New Orleans!

Nice well balanced video. Winters in this area are great for hiking and summers aren't nearly as bad as West Tennessee. Cheers ❤️🇺🇲🏴

@@carleysdad94 My wife and I both grew up here, so there's really nothing new for us to explore (which is what we love most). We really like big cities and big nature. Charleston is kind of in between. Small city, and not much nature to explore other than wetlands (if you have a boat) and a couple of beaches. The rivers and water here are actually toxic due to waste runoff, so you're not supposed to swim in them. The time we went to Chattanooga, we loved the crystal clear river streams, mountains, hills, and forests. So much to do! I feel like Charleston is a good place to retire and live a slow life in a quiet home. It's just not where we're at personally in our lives

Just moved from ATL to Nashville, but I’ve been meaning to get back to Chatt to explore. It looks so beautiful every time I pass thru. If I made the trip solo, would it be safe enough to hike, etc because I want to do some outdoor activities. Oh and…not trying to be a creep but I love a nice, full ginger beard. Keep it! 😍

Haha thank you! Yes, it's safe to go on hikes by yourself. I always recommend to always keep something on you to defend yourself anywhere you go, just in case

If you get away from the Chattanooga area it’s not a bad place but gangs are over running the Chattanooga area and the crime rate is growing terribly. To stay out of those crime pockets you need to avoid Chattanooga area period, it’s everywhere now. If you have allergies then stay away from East Tennessee all together, it’s one of the worse areas in the USA
