I never realized how comfortable my veiled chameleon is with my husband and I until my niece and nephew came over and I was trying to feed her while they were standing next to me and she would refuse to come down until I made them go away, it made me love her even more than I thought I could!

I got lucky with Rango.. I bought him from PetCo when he was the size of a pinky finger. He has grown so fast. Rango has beautiful Super Bright Greens and Yellows and super sweet his Terrarium sets on my desk. So when I am on my gaming laptop he climbs down his vine and waits for me to open his door. Then I have vines that go out from his terrarium above my laptop and along the wall so he is always chilling and watching everything. One of the best lizards to have. I have Chameleons, bearded dragons and a red eye crocodile skink. I also have few different trapdoor spiders Well we love all your videos you share and enjoy seeing all your creatures.

We bought one at Petsmart in Oct 2020. We didn't handle him right away to give him time to adjust, but now he is just mean and moody. We decided to buy another one recently and held him the first day as my husband put his cage together. We decided to gently take him out every day to get use to us. The 2nd and 3rd day he got a little hissy, but after that he now crawls to me and hangs out on my shoulders. His name is Pascal and is the cutest! Google, the older one, is still mean and moody, but fascinating to watch. He has gotten big!

Love your channel!! You have taught me a lot about veiled chameleons! I just took one in from a family member who wasn’t able to give him the proper care and I am realizing they’re a lot of work! I am doing my best to give him the proper husbandry but it is hard to learn everything! I am doing my best though, and I am getting him checked out by a vet early next week so I am doing everything I can!

My chameleon is evil. My daughter got him for me last year when she went to Repti-con. She paid only $20.00 for him. He was smaller than my pinky finger. He was so small I was worried I wasn't going to be able to keep him alive. Nearly a year later and he is big and strong. I feel bad about his attitude, but I knew there was a chance that he might not be friendly. My family and I just enjoy looking at him. He does snap and bite too so I try to avoid putting my hands around the area of the enclosure he is hanging out in.

I believe the "sassy" nature of many chameleons is probably caused by improper husbandry, and most of them would be quite chill if taken care of well. My old cham was even more comfortable with me than this guy. Often he would climb out onto my hand the moment I opened the enclosure, then run up to my shoulder and try to climb on my head, lol. I never tried to handle him forcefully, he always made it clear whether he's in the mood for socializing or not.

No wonder you are successful with your reptiles being so gentle with them! Chameleons is another example of anything but easy yet with you it seems like that. Their age probably is a con/pro at the same time I reckon. Since I've been having so much fun with my wasp friends lately 😎 do you need to be careful when outside or in general that he doesn't snatch something that's not good for him or no worries whatsoever? 😂Also, just imagine the lamps actually blew up like lil volcanoes every time they needed changing haha...
@reptiliangarden

I totally should have put the lifespan as a con. Thank you for mentioning it! And luckily, he’s never tried to eat another strange bug outside before. And the lamps just turn off and won’t turn back on again. Lmao it’s way less dramatic 😂

@@reptiliangarden Lifespan is definatly a Con. After having them come and go for 15 years I just had to stop. It's just too depressing. I loved mine. I had a Joe and a Louie. Both were just like your Banba. Definatly a Mamas boy. Their cage was not closed. When he was ready for bed he would literally walk over to where I was sitting and curl up on my chest and go to sleep. The first time he did it I was hooked. I think we just have to understand their lifespan and decide if that choice is for you because they can definitely be a joy as well as heartbreak.

Also should we be letting the chameleons out of their cage for a certain amount of time or just leave them in there? Also how do you know if they want out? Thank you!
