Peace be to you! I graduated from UDC in 94' with a B.S. in Biology! It is one of the BEST academic experiences in my life! I agree with EVERYTHING that you are saying. I went on to earn other degrees from other schools (Howard, Univ. of Nebraska Medical Center, A.T. Still University for my Doctorate). However, I will ALWAYS have a special place in my heart for my UDC professors. I got to know them very well because of the small class size. I even came back as a guest lecturer! I'm so PROUD of you! You're doing a great job representing the school. I'm hoping my children with start there in the fall of 2020, Lord willing.

Thanks for posting this. Born and raised in DC, but I was on the fence about finishing my degree at UDC.

Looking at this now is great! I plan on going to UDC this Fall studying Digital Media with a concentration in Broadcast Jounalism. I already have a degree in Marketing and wanted to get my masters in Broadcast Journalism at American University. However, they are extremely expensive and I feel like I can get the same ciriculum at UDC as I did there, but cheaper. Your video is amazing, BTW. Thank you so much!!

is it possible to work fulltime while studing nursing in UDC ??
@OmarAbdulMalikDHEdMPASPACPAPro2 жыл бұрын
You CAN, but it's not advisable. I worked as a full time certified nursing assistant CNA whilst in the AAS RN program (90'-92'). It was REALLY exhausting!😥😫📚 Kenia, I hope you don't mind me answering people's questions on your channel.

Low graduation rates among HBCU students, has historically been tied to the economic struggles of low-income households. Traditionally, a college education has always been a less likely option for students who don’t have the financial means. Low-income students often rely on federal and private forms of financial aid to compensate for their inability to fund their own education. However, financial aid doesn’t guarantee that a student will be able to afford to complete their college education. In many cases, scholarships don’t provide enough money to cover the full cost of tuition, room and board, textbooks and living expenses. - Ref: www.theatlantavoice.com/articles/low-graduation-rates-continue-to-plague-hbcus/ I am an example of the economic struggle this article references, however I paid my own way and I can say I am a proud graduate of the University of the District of Columbia. Class of 2003 with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting.

@@victormarshall8770 Hey, you raise an interesting point! However, people underestimate the power of research. Did you know there are fellowships in Ivy League universities that cover your entire tuition/books/room, etc? Also, smaller universes are willing to give you a full scholarship, or pay for a large portion of your tuition if your GPA is high. Attending UDC exposed me to all these programs. I was shocked to find out the $20K scholarships you can get from programs just for having good grades. I can only hope that someone who is under privilege will read this post and find funding that'll help them achieve what may seem impossible. Research Columbia University's HBCU program, Harvard might have one as well.
