Great video. The summer break is tough because the weather is nice (not winter). I can usually get a rest by having a weekend off like the video suggested, and I'm straight up in lazy mode. I bike commute, so when I'm ready to get back on the bike I just resume my 4am first ride to work and am good to go.

Two days off the bike due to a crash has now become my mid season break.

It takes double the time off to get fitness back. Not 1-1. Doing 20 minutes once a week offsets much of the loss.

"Just Don't Run"; increasingly important advice as you get into your 50's, 60's and older. Cycling slows the aging process while running eventually speeds it up, imo.

I tried to convince my brother of this. But he kept running and destroyed a tendon in his foot. Finally got surgery and then signed up for a run event while his foot was still in bad shape
