You have like, ten gods with you by the end of the game, including the god of time, the god of space, the fallen god who opened up the rift you fell out of and the all-powerful creator god who pulled you into Hisui in the first place. All I'm saying is, the protag isn't actually trapped. If they want to go home, they absolutely can. My favorite interpretation is one I found over at Tumblr, which suggested that the protagonist hasn't gone home simply because they still want to explore Hisui for a bit before they return.

Yeah, I’m fairly sure it was stated in one of the series that Giratina IS the Distortion World. And the Giratina Pokemon we see is likely a physical manifestation of that insanely powerful being. Likewise, Dialga is time itself, and Palkia is space itself, and the Pokemon we see are just physical manifestations to interact with the world

Doubt I'll get an answer but how do you do those side dodges? Whenever I try I suddenly face the side I was dodging to instead of him. So I have to reorient myself, and I either miss hitting him with balms or get hit by a meteor/pulse.

This is how a battle vs GOD itself should've been in the past games, at least not on this type of gameplay but something similar, an actual challenge vs a deity rather than a boring normal battle where you use the master ball and it's over
