A jury found the three white men accused of killing Ahmaud Arbery, a 25-year-old Black man, guilty on most of the 29 charges they faced the day before Thanksgiving.
More trial coverage, here: www.11alive.co...
Arbery was shot and killed on Feb. 23, 2020. Cellphone video leaked to the public shows two armed white men in a truck approaching the 25-year-old Black man as he runs down the road. One of the men, later identified as Travis McMichael, and Arbery struggle over McMichael's shotgun before Arbery is shot and collapses.
Travis McMichael, his father Gregory McMichael and William "Roddy" Bryan, who recorded the video, are all charged with murder in Arbery's death.

@@mm6461 except kyle rittenhouse wasn't a vigilante. Wasn't his fault that people started violently attacking him. The jury spoke on that. Every court case is different. How many hits by a skateboard would you take until you defend yourself? When someone says that they are going to kill you and then grabs your rifle what do you do? Cant call the police, they were busy with the riot. Different circumstances here. In this case, the defendants had ample time to call police, instead they armed themselves and confronted a suspicious person. They has no right to pursue the guy in the first place. Items can be replaced, lives cannot.

The most chilling thing from the sentencing was the full one minute moment of silence. Bryan and the McMichaels chased Arbury for five minutes, in their trucks, armed with guns. Not one of them are members of law enforcement agencies of any kind. Arbury knew that. He also knew that because they weren't law enforcement, that they had no right to be chasing him and attempting to detain him. Yet during these same five minutes, this same realization didn't dawn on Bryan or the McMichaels. As for Travis McMichael, the Coast Guard needs to court martial him at some point.

She killed it. As a criminal Justice major law minor, I loved how she used the McMichaels own testimony to help her case. She is savage. I wish one day to become a prosecutor as good as she. Her case was won once the defense started talking. Besides her case, they do deserve the sentence they got.

Everyone’s giving kudos to the prosecutor but the real hero is the recording. It still makes me shudder to think that if one of those three stooges hadn’t recorded that evil crime they would have probably got away with it. That being said I thank God for the judge and jury who sent a strong message that we need to stop making assumptions about people based solely on the color of their skin…

She didn't mean "with" the possibility of parole when she spoke of the McMichaels. I believe that was a misstatement, as she'd previously asked for them to be sentenced to life without parole. Also, listen to the emphasis she puts on the word "with" when she asked for Roddie Bryan to be sentenced to life with the possibility of parole.
