I live in Kentucky and I know there is gold here. Most is not comercially accessable as it is about 5,000 feet under the sedimentary stone layers. But so many people think that since gold is not comercially viable, that there is no gold to be found on the surface, which is not true at all. This video is good evidence of that.

See I fossil and geode hunt here in KY mainly in Pulaski county and the Lake Cumberland area. And I’ve always wondered if there’s any gold to be had in the creeks and rivers that KY has thousands of miles of. Lake Cumberland alone has more shoreline than all of Florida. There’s something to be said about that much shoreline and water. I know gemstones, fossils, and artifacts can be found in abundance. Very cool. I’m gonna have to get some panning equipment and start looking for gold when I go out.

Hey Boris. Nice video. Good to see someone panning Ky. Going to start messing around at it myself (newbie) just for R&R. Don’t think there’s much on this side of Ky except bugs and snakes but worth a try

Is that you property, WMA, or private property. How can you find places to go without getting into trouble with anyone. Seems like everything I look up in Boone, Campbell, and Kent Counties are WMA, or private. Can you help?

Hi Boris, I just moved here from Folsom CA. Was just getting into panning as a hobby there. Is this for real? I was under the impression that gold was not to be found in KY?
@mpk66642 жыл бұрын
Gold can be found along the Ohio river. The tributaries and KY river might be an interesting hunting area.

Think there is any gold in western KY?
@borisdoesthings3 жыл бұрын
If there's bedrock, i'd say it's worth a shot. but stick to rivers they tend to have the most reliable markers for wether there is gold there or not. Rivers at least you find SOME gold. wether its tiny or not really depends but creeks you'll be lucky to FIND anything and the " good spots" usually only have tiny stuff so i'd stick to Rivers with visible bedrock. Google maps is your friend.
