I remember when I realized my parents were right for keeping me away from certain “friends”. They understand that some kids are exposed to horrific things. As a child she learned from another child that she can use her body to earn money, and that’s heartbreaking.

@@erindiazmclaughlin I always heard “rode hard and put away wet,” cause I always thought it was a street term til I married a country boy and found out it was about horses, originally. That was a bad idea, btw (marrying that man). I stick with people who understand and respect my origins, now. I’m not saying country guys are all bad. It might work out for someone else. The real lesson was to have my own, not put myself in a position to have to depend on someone financially. That was, honestly, worse than the streets. I’m not saying don’t let a man support you, but have something in your name in case you want to leave. (Random tangent). That goes for the streets, too, though. I hope Dior has an out, if she gets sick, tired, or it starts to be miserable. I have been out there so fired up & then they change a law and/or every trick out there is bad because they’re doing stings and the “respectable” ones, with something to lose, stay away. I honestly think it would be a lot better for everyone if they let the women work, who are going to anyway, and leave the men alone unless they’re forcing and threatening women, assaulting them, or dealing with underage girls. Marriage is not illegal, even though domestic violence continues to be a problem. Marriage is an intimate financial contract with one person. So is working for a pimp. Prostitution is a short term financial contract with many men, but I had more freedom on my down time. I’m not saying be a slave to anybody…THAT is an atrocity. Adults should have the freedom to choose, period. Yes, a lot of us had 💩 options, but don’t make them fewer. Community investment in better options for young women and men is always good, not coercive control by the law. (I ended up writing my own editorial…this is not directed at who I responded to. You did not say anything I object to…I just don’t want to retype it…lol).

My Momma told me when I was about your age to enjoy your youth while you can because once you get past about 25 the years will just fly by before you even know it. She was SO right! What I wish my parents had helped me understand better was how many people will take advantage of you. I was too nice and way too naive and have had people I thought I could trust totally screw me over. Girl there's not a pimp alive who has your best interest in mind. They only think of themselves and use you as a tool. You are not anyone's tool unless you let them use you like one. I don't know you and you don't know me but there's so much more to life than walking the track; especially for a pimp! When you think you had a good childhood growing up with a father in jail and you did jail time yourself as a minor, you think eight "dates" per day is a normal day for a sixteen years old you are from a different world. Those of us thinking Dior can transition into conventional society are deluding ourselves. At age nineteen the foundation for her future is already set and its not pretty.

This is my niece and the whole family has tried to get her off the streets and to leave that lifestyle alone but she refuses…she wants to be out there… she wants to do this. She has a home she can go to a bed to sleep in and a little sister that looks up to her and a child that she gave up for adoption not with her mom because her mom has never seen or met her granddaughter These are all the choices that she makes she chooses to be out there she chooses to sell her body. She chooses not to listen to Anyone. The whole family has tried for 5 to 6 years to get her off the streets, and every time she goes to one of her aunties house for support she leaves, and she goes back to the street. She quit the job she had because she said in her words “the money wasn’t fast enough for her” there is only so much the family can do to help someone but if they like what there doing and don’t see anything wrong with it then how can you get them to stop. Her 15-year-old brother was murdered in 2020 and that did not motivate her to stop so I don’t know what will. She is not welcomed anymore at anyone’s house because she steals and she lies and people go out their way to help her just for her to run away and go back to the streets.

Well, but feelings of shame can actually help us. Like all emotions, they should be felt and acknoledged, not pushed away or dentied. Shame can help us because it helps us to change. When we allow ourselves to feel ashamed of the shameful things we've done, we feel like 'Ooh, I don't want to feel this ashamed of myself anymore, so I'll have to make changes'. Being honest with ourseleves when we've done something shameful, and letting that shame lead us to change our lives, is a smart choice, and a great thing, becuase it allows us to change, to get out of unhealthy situations. Whereas if we deny that we're ashamed, if we deny that we're doing shamefull things, that helps us to stay stuck, and stay in unsafe places, and do unsafe things, because instead of thinking 'Oooh I don't want to feel this ashamed anymore, I'm going to change', we think 'I have nothing to be ashamed of', and so there's nothing there that propels us towards change.

@@complimentary_voucherYou say that but opinions like yours are damaging in society. Have you ever met a prostitite who wasn't cynical about life or the world? Prostitutes see the worst side of humanity, they are loved in the shadows and discarded when the sun rises. All of her tricks will pretend they don't know her if she walked passed them in Walmart. They are shunned, have little or no friends and command very little respect within their families and society at large. I repeat they see the worst side of human beings so they are the most unhappy, bitter and cynical people in our society. They keep their faith in money and if blessed, they move on to better things but they remain forever cold inside. Make no mistake, noone wants this life. It is soul destroying.

I remember when I was 15 and kicked out of the house into Los Angeles and I lived with my brother and stole food to eat, it was super hard! I smoked weed and drank but no pills or hard drugs like heroin or crazy stuff. I'm a 61 yr Hispanic lady now who never had children, my life was hard and Cold, no real love. Just men who used my body for sex and I could have made money but I felt maybe someone will love me and take care of me. Not!! I'm all alone now with a bad addiction but I have a roof over my head. Young kids don't know anything about life until you go through hell!! By the time you realize how bad life is it's forty years later. This world sucks for most of us!! Survive the best you can

That's rough just imagining the sheer number of men tricking with an underaged little, 15 y/o girl. She's 19 now, but despite the mommy belly she still looks like a little girl. Even if she lies to them about her age... dude, look at this little girl! And she is by far not the only one on Fig alone...

The Great liberal state of California no longer arrests underage street prostitutes. Which was one of the only ways the police were able to get them away from an abusive pimp.

Smart young woman. She got mad personality, type of person everybody loves.. beautiful smile. No drugs. Wishing her all the blessings she deserves. Dior, make as much money as possible, buy a place (get rid of any dude you don’t love-waste if time/energy) get out the game by 25yo and start a new life with your daughter. Put in place some goals and time lines and stick to it.

Love is when you care about someone and try to keep them safe try to push them in the right direction and you get angry when they do something you think is dumb because you are afraid that something bad will happen to them. And you think about them a lot and you get happy when you see them and you want to be around the person and you show affection. To me that is love.

The fact that she says “the only thing that happened to me is I almost got kidnapped” like that was nothing. Most people never have to endure that and to be put in that situation is extremely traumatizing, and she acted like is nothing like she just fell on accident or something. Poor girl 😢

She’s so misinformed .. I’m a SA/ kidnapping survivor and I have a super nice and sweet personality . Do NOT think you are safe because you’re nice . There are CREEPY people out there who hurt others because they have a problem internally . Not because of their victim’s personality. Not wishing any harm to her but she needs to tighten up because that attitude thinking “it can’t happen to me “ is letting your guard down way too much .
