Prot Paladin Rotation and Spell Changes - WotLK Classic

UPDATES Hammer of Wrath was fixed (the bug was that it was going based off ranged attack power instead of melee attack power), so it now does significantly more damage. It will also proc seals, just like ShoR and Judgement with JotJ, same exception where it will not proc SoV DOT but will proc SoV Instant as long as at least one stack of SoV DOT is already on the target. If you're going purely for damage, you could replace HS, Judge, or Cons in your rotation with Hammer of Wrath for single target fights. However, you do give up buffs/debuffs by replacing HS and Judge, so this is more for parsing. If there is a better attack speed debuff on the target already, Judgements of the Just requires 2 points to proc SoV instant and SoC cleave.

SoV instant damage from Judgement requires at least 1 stack of SoV DOT to be on the target already. Seal of Command will always cleave from Judgement with JotJ though. I just tested to be sure nothing changed, and they're still both procing off Judgement

3:28 I don't understand how could hand of reckoning deal damage when you cast exorcism first and it makes the mob target you. I saw here 3:28 that it did, I just don't understand how can hand or reck cause damage if you already attacked the mob with exorcism first.

One thing to add, it will require 2 points instead of 1 if there's a stronger attack speed debuff already on the target. So I now run 2 points, since there will pretty much always be a >10% attack speed debuff up in raids

Block value is on all shields by default and you also get 1 block value for every 2 strength and other gear can have block value as well. You get strength multipliers from talents and buffs, as well as a block value multiplier from talents, so the numbers after those are considered are much higher. You can see your total block value by opening your character sheet and mousing over Block

Sadly I hate to admit this but I have been a player since 2005 on and off. Came back after like 5 years. I was excited to get back into it but I'm a point/click player :( I'm trying really hard to get used to hotkeys, macros and all that stuff. This video seems so straight forward but seems like another language to me. Do you have advice or a video as to how to use weak auras? like how to set it up? or a list of macros other than the one you showed in the vid? Also your screen just looks clean everything just seems to be front and center. I did tank a heroic and I did ok but I felt like I was just randomly clicking things because my bars are just a mess and unorganized. Thanks for the video you seem really knowledgeable.

Hey, I don't have a vid going over how to use weakauras yet, but I'm definitely planning to make one. It can be really confusing when you first start using it, but once you get the hang of it, you can do a lot with it. To get started, just download weakauras from here www.curseforge.com/wow/addons/weakauras-2/files/3998408 Once you're in game, type /wa to open up the menu and in the top left corner click Import. You can copy paste weakauras into the empty text box to add them to your library. All of mine can be found here but this site also has others you could get: wago.io/4QENh8JhB Once you've added a weakaura, you can go back to the main menu and your weakauras will display on the left side. Some weakauras are part of a group, like my rotation one. You can click on the group itself or click to plus sign under it to display all of the weakauras that make up the group and click on one of those. If you click on the group, you can edit things for all of the weakauras in the group, clicking the individual ones allow you to adjust settings on just those individual ones. You can tinker with this to re-size them or whatever you want. Under Position Settings in the Group or Display tab, you'd just mess with Width and Height to change size. If you want to move something around, first click and drag the WeakAuras header at the top of the menu to move the menu out of the way so you can see. Then you can either click and drag the weakaura on your screen or you can go again to Position Settings and play around with X Offset and Y Offset to get them just where you want them. Hope that helps, it is a bit of a learning curve figuring it out. And I definitely recommend practicing using keybinds. Just put your most important abilities on the easiest buttons for you to press. You can expand your keybinds by using alt, ctrl, and shift modifiers too, for example alt+4 or shift+5, which will open up a lot more possibilities.

Your threat macro doesn't seem to work, copied exactly and double checked it several times now. all it does is cast Avenging wrath and hand of reckoning, not exorcism or avenger shield. They might have screwed up cast sequence, not real sure.

I'd stick with the str gemming and carry a few Thick Lionseyes in your bag so you can swap as needed to try to maintain crit cap as you level. You can carry some Rigis Lionseyes too for the same purpose for hit

pls master plater profile, i was using threat plate i hate a bit, i dont want to see big icon "debuff" every throwing of shield or stun of other player, its super big icon ty master, every day im learning "something" of u now itsnt important in pre patch woltk defense cap or any minimous about 480.. avoidance.. ? hc´s and raids is now a memme xd im using a lot gear of tank/dps pd: with hammer is better using slow or fast weapon 1.6 vs 2.5+ etc

hey, to disable all buffs showing go to Buff Settings and on the far left under General Settings uncheck Enabled and that should get rid of it. You can also reduce the size of just the one on the right by going to Buff Special and Icon Settings in the bottom right and adjusting the size. In WotLK the crit cap is 540 defense but still just 5.6% reduced chance to be crit and resil will still help you get there. Yah raids are really easy atm, pretty silly. Hammer of the Righteous isn't affected by weapon speed, so highest dps weapon will do the most damage

There should be an import tab. The SUF one was a little harder to find, I think it's in the General tab

Im in t2 piece t6 and t5 atm, pretty decently geared. I stuggle with mana if i am not using seal of wisdom, judge wisdom, and sacnt. with anything less than 4 mobs hitting me. My rotation is using Shield pull, Judge, SoR, Conc, HS, then repeating as they come up. Any thoughts on what I am doing wrong? O also I have about 4200 mana

Yah mostly just an issue at 70 with no Divine Plea. I spam a lot of mana pots to keep my mana up (only 1 min cd now). Sometimes you'll just need to drop the really mana intensive spells from your rotation, like Cons or AS

That's a great leveling combo, you guys can do just about any dungeon duo if you want to. Typically a Holy pally in the raid will bring imp devo, so those points are better in Reckoning. Judgements of the Just is identical dps to Conviction, but you also get the added benefit of applying your own attack speed debuff for anytime you don't have a DK on your target and increased cleave damage. The application of the JotJ debuff procs Seal of Command cleave and Seal of Vengeance instant damage, and has another small benefit of refreshing Divine Plea with the Guarded by the Light talent, which is kinda nice for those times you're moving to a new pack and DP is about to fall off but can be refreshed from 10 yds away with Judgement. Vindication reduces a mob's damage by about 15%, so it's a really important debuff to have up. I've had bad experiences relying on warriors to put Demoarlizing Shout up for me, so I just ensure it's always on by bringing it myself. Applying your own attack speed and attack power debuffs is really nice outside of raids too, since you very likely won't have someone else around to put them up for you
