you can incorporate U-bar in your slab by specifying the end conditions when you click on the strip icon before cutting through your slab to produce the reinforcements

thank you for your time in watching our video. As regard your question, prota structure software does not really model strip foundation, but what you can do, is to create the strip foundation and tie beam on AutoCAD after you finish your design. And as for the reinforcement required for the tie beam, use nominal reinforcement say (2Y16 T/B). The beam dimension could be (230x300mm). i hope the answer was helpful, please feel free to ask, if you still need clarification in any other area. thanks

you import from autocad into prota structure while you export out of prota structure to autoCAD. so if i understand you very well, you want to import into prota structure, you must convert your autocad file from dwg to dxf. then you must make sure that all the axis line are in one layer and also the columns are in another layer. then follow the instruction in the video. As for the roof load, prota structure does not really have roof load panels like other software, so to solve that problem, you put a wall load of 1m high on the roof beams. then that load will act as the roof load. please let me know if this explanation was helpful.

Column fails base on two things. 1) the size of the column. And 2) the reinforcement is not enough. So you can either increase the number of the reinforcement or increase the size of the column. Then after all the changes, click on update

Hello Eng. I don’t understand when you say prota consider the roof as another floor,and then you say the floor has no element.

Please follow this steps. 1) insert your floor: if you input 1, the software sees it as a floor without a roof. So you must instruct the software by inputting 2, so it will recognize it as roof. Step 2) generate floor: when generating the slab, beams and column, the roof does not have slab, so you don't generate slab for the roof. 3) go through the video again and if you still don't understand, please let me know

can you rephrase your question? but if i get you correctly, you want to know how to design columns on cantilever? the first thing you do, is to create an axis line where you want the columns to be, if the column will start from the first floor, make sure to insert the column on that floor. and follow the instruction in the video, i hope it helps. please let me know
