The most exceptional video on “the basics”. This is something I needed know but didn’t know how to. Thank you so much for not overlooking this basic needed when the heat does heat up our pool poles.

Did you heard or seen a veteran pool drain cover because there’s no information about that cover on the Internet?
@PoolSchooler5 ай бұрын
I haven't. Some of the older style drain covers are not being sold any more due to the size of the holes in them. Too easy for little fingers to get caught in them. Very dangerous.

A pool noodle might also work too
@PoolSchooler5 ай бұрын
@@chriscontreras5526 that is a fantastic idea. I only concern is that the elements, especially the hot Arizona sun or something like it will rapidly deteriorate the pool noodle and that can make quite a mess as it starts to “powder” off. But it still is a pretty good idea.

you could add a drain hole to the cap?

@@corey.morreale you are correct. I thought about doing that and it still may. Appreciate the comment.

What do you recommend for birds pooping around your pool
@PoolSchooler5 ай бұрын
@@chriscontreras5526 to be honest, I really haven’t seen a good way to stop birds from pooping around or in your pool. Definitely it’s going to increase the phosphate levels of your pool so you’re going to want to treat your pool with phosphate remover regularly. I do have one client who has four floating alligator head decoys in the pool and they seem to think it’s really made a difference. However, there’s always a trade-off, every time I service their pool those floating heads are jammed up in the skimmer.

Hello, My pool was not being used and had become a money pit so I rented a pump from home depot and drained it, now I'm having rain water accumulate. My question is can I use the pool pump to drain the rain water out to the yard with out damaging the Pool Pump?
@PoolSchooler5 ай бұрын
As long as the suction is coming from the bottom of the pool only or you could damage the pump if it runs dry. If you're not going to use the pool any more may I suggest filling it in with organic soil and turning it into a organic garden. I know of several people who have done this. I'm sure there are videos on KZbin that show how to do it.

I refilled my pool and followed you previous instructions. However the cya still low after adding about 7 lbs for a 20k gal pool. Is that normal?thanks
@PoolSchooler5 ай бұрын
Keep adding one lb at a time w/ the pump motor running to distribute it, retest and repeat until you reach the low end of ideal 30-50ppm.

are them ez-chlor tablets good? i found them at my local hardware store for $150 for a 50lb bucket was thinking about buying them
@PoolSchooler5 ай бұрын
@@tallcan5112 I have used the ez chlor tablets quite a lot because my supplier carries them often and they have proved very reliable for me. $150 for a 50 pound bucket is a fantastic price you might want to check their manufacturing date I’m not sure what the life span of a chlorine tablet is I found this on the Internet regarding pouring tablets, and if they lose their potency overtime, hopefully this will be helpful. I’ll paste it below my comment here. But if the tablets in question have been stored well and are not extremely old and you should be good. “chlorine tablets can lose their potency over time if they are not stored properly. When stored in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated place, such as a basement, and kept between 50-70°F (10-21°C), chlorine tablets can retain 98% of their original chlorine content after three years and remain effective for up to five years. However, exposure to heat, moisture, sunlight, or direct sunlight can degrade chlorine and impact its stability and potency. For example, the sun's UV rays can reduce chlorine concentration by up to 90% in as little as two hours”
