Damn, imagine you are dumb enough to prank someone as they are opening themselves up to an intimate moment with their crush (who's in on the prank), you're basically at fault that person dies because of your stupid prank and then have the audacity to return all: "Hiiiiii besties!" I'm sorry, but I would be so guilt ridden beyond sanity, I wouldn't even be able to get on a bus to join their little anniversary-get-together. "It's just a prank!", Ma'am, that's how you create future serial-killers.

the prank itself is less important...what's more important is the circumstances around it and how each person felt about it or if they were involved in it. Sam: She NEVER agreed in the prank and didn't want any part of it, which is why she called the others jerks, she was close fiends with Beth, Hanna and Josh. Josh: he was too drunk and out of it to know what was going on. Chris: same as josh Ashley: although she participated she felt the most bad and guilty, she never intended for it to be cruel or hurtful. Matt: To be honest it's hard to tell what Matt felt, judging by his personality i'm guessing he went along out of peer pressure...he doesn't seem to have a strong personality. Michael: If you look deeper at Mike's personality he probably didn't mean for it to be harsh, he was just having a bit of fun (not that that makes it ok). Emily: I honestly think this bi%$ was the only one truly to blame...she is smart enough to know better, clearly, but she ENJOYS being mean. Jess: Yeah jess can be a bi%$ but if she gets any kind of pass it's because she is the opposite of Emily...she is not very smart and insecure so she overcompensates...she probably just went along with it because everyone else did.

@@wayfaring_stranger2215 that was Emily not Jess...Emily was Mike's boyfriend back then (1 year ago) Jess wasn't. she would have more incentive to want to prank Hanna. plus emily is the one who said "it was just a prank" afterward as well. Jess hardly said anything so her view isn't really clear. The difference between Emily and Jess is that Emily actually is smart and confident...she has the potential to be a better person...she proves that later when she survives in the mines...Jess is insecure and is nothing but talk...big mouth but no confidence. i can justify feeling more sorry for Jess...because she isn't as smart or secure...but Emily...if you have all that potential and still be a bi%$ just for the sake of it...screw that. there is no evidence who wrote the letter...when jess said that she was jut taking about the conversation they were having. if you have played through this multiple times you know jess is insecure, not very smart and just talks big but emily can hold her own even if she is a massive bi%$.

@@TheQeltar I really enjoyed Men of Medan, the story was a bit weak but I enjoyed that the problem wasn't supernatural and felt like it had a fair amount of replayabitlity. I cannot by any means say the same about Little Hope. Talk about a let down

@@TheQeltar well Until Dawn and The Quarry are longer games that have more years of work put into them, meanwhile the anthology series games are made in shorter spans of time to get them out annually

The 'Dark Pictures Anthology' games are lower-budgeted, short games (3 to 4 hs). 'Until Dawn' and 'The Quarry' are high-budgeted, long games (10 hs or so). Of course there's a "step down" in the quality in the TDPA games compared to UA and TQ (what we've seen so far), they don't have nearly the same budget and resources.

In the prologue to the game Beth and Hannah always fall to their deaths no matter what choices you make. That’s why Dr. Hill says “No one can change what happened last year”.

I definitely like this game better than any of the Dark Pictures Anthology games that have come out so far, but it is very evident that Until Dawn is the spiritual predecessor of that whole series. I'm glad to see you play it. As someone who has played this game at least once every Halloween for several years in a row, I feel comfortable assuring you that there was nothing you could have changed about what happened with the twins. That whole section was a tutorial and your decisions didn't really matter during.

Good game and the choices and using the controller features more is 1 of the best I've seen, the choices have a real impact more than those on mass effect. Good story and mystery and I only managed to get 2 killed 👍

Oh nice! I played Until Dawn once and enjoyed it. Not sure I'd ever revisit it myself-even though, presumably, each playthrough can be very different-because I dislike feeling pressure to make different decisions than the ones I made the first time around, so I'll enjoy seeing how Cynthetic's play differs from mine. And I'm pretty sure she'll have a bit of a different take, just from the 50ish minutes we see here. It's not a long game, but definitely a good palate cleanser type of game. A nice emotional backing away from emotional RDR2 ending, lol.

@Finn of Zaun I agree but I didn't say interesting. I said likeable. I meant it from the beginning section she was the only one against the prank that's what I meant. But yes everyone else is a bit more interesting once you really get going especially Chris and Mike. They end up redeeming themselves by the end. My favorite character is probably Mike because of his character changing as the game goes on. He starts off as an asshole but as the game goes on he puts his ego away and steps up to help and he basically becomes the hero by the end.

Until dawn was made when they (supermassive) were with Sony. It has a way bigger team and budget plus all of the sony in house recourses behind it. Why they left sony to make games for mediocrity factory namco bandai is beyond me but the drop in quality evident in their later games is very noticable.

Great video, Cyn! You're correct, the "don't move" was the original version of the heartbeat mini game from the Dark Pictures games. They changed it because most people would cheat the "don't move" by putting their controller on their desk. A few things to keep in mind: While the characters have stats, they don't really play into the game at all so don't worry about them too much. Things will increase and decrease seemingly randomly. Personally, I don't think it was a fully implemented system and they just never removed it. On the totem screen, be sure to press "X" to see the Events of the Past. The game mentions that collecting totems will reveal those events, but never explicitly tells you to push X to see them so a lot of people miss it for much of the game. When you're given two choices for actions or paths, the "safe/slow" one will give you more time for the quick time events while the "fast/risky" option makes the QTs faster. Some of them will give you a slightly different bit of story, but the end result is always the same.

im only now starting the gameplay, so idk what you gonna but, but i hope that you do something, that NOBODY EVER DOES. in that moment that the game give you a decision of "drop your sister, or let go of the branch" for me, the best decision is "neither" i wouldnt drop my sister, and i wouldnt also fall to my death, i would just wait for the guy to grab me.... (i know what happens btw, but i still would like to see ther people doing it)
