Being in the stadium that day just meters away from the equipment and people he hit, it was a real sh*tshow going on. But the main reaction in Germany was more against Greenpeace rather then being against Paramotors in general. Greenpeace was extremely critizied afterwards, even from long time supporters, calling them the "Green Terrorists".

I agree, it seems like the focus is much more on the organization and less on the activity. I think it still has the potential to change the way people perceive us subconsciously though. Definitely a shit show indeed.

The funny part too is that environmentalists back in the 60s actually protested to ban paper products to save the trees. Plastics were actually promoted by environmentalists because plastics could be remelted and reused after being discarded as well as being lighter and stronger so less material would be needed compared to a plant based product. Now they are stepping backward and want plant over the superior synthetic products? WTF?!

It's definitely illegal to fly that low over populated areas in Germany. Paramotors belong to the ultralight vehicle category here and those are not allowed to fly below 300m / 1000ft over people. At least 150m / 500ft for gliders, but only if absolutely necessary for their operation. He was also flying through a strict no-fly zone and almost got shot down by police snipers for it. Super shitty action by Greenpeace. I was supporting them, but they've done so many dumb actions in the recent past. I think there are much better organisations to support.

Indeed well said. Too many new/old PPG pilots have unrealistic expectations of what they can legally do with a motor. Indeed pilots need to know they can't just go and land inside stadiums or fly close to the public. Its also important they know they can't just land beside their local McDonalds, KFC, and Shopping centers. Pilots should understand that there are rules around where you can legally land an aircraft, and the emergency landing clause is just that. Also flying in and around clouds, carrying a VHF radio, and making radio calls. Pilots should also know not to drop or throw any item from their aircraft during flight... I do enjoy your channel. Wouldn't it be "Interesting" if the rules were that we could legally just fly anywhere, land/take off anywhere, and do anything. I certainly agree this stadium incident puts the sport heavily into disrepute. There is also the disturbing terrorism angle to what this stadium chap could have been doing. In Australia, we are just one incident away from our governing body CASA (FAA) requiring us to register our aircraft, visible registration numbers on your wing, and possible FLARM technology. It will happen worldwide, just a few more incidents like this to set it off.

Hi tucker, im from germany and can tell you that the entirety of munich was set as restricted airspace, there where actually police snipers aiming their rifles at him. the only reason they did not shoot him was the greenpeace logo on his wing. also what is quite said here is that it has an effect on far more then paramotoring pilots, both in germany as in the netherlands they are talking about him as a paraglider pilot.

That would be awesome. So I looked online, and found a few videos. It looks like a lot of fun, and much safer than taking to the sky myself! If you could find a pilot that looks like yourself, that would be a hoot!

The pilot is the German doctor (surgeon) Kai von S. According to German media, this is his third action with a motorized glider. People were injured in the incident. A station employee on the head and neck, as well as a French TV technician on the head. Both have now been discharged after treatment in the hospital. He protests against a German car company, but drives a gasoline engine from exactly this company ... Since there was a flight ban over the "Allianz Arena" he was used by German snipers to counter terrorism targeted. According to a police spokesman and the interior minister of Bavaria, the writing on the screen saved his life. If the SEK (Special Operations Command) had assumed a terrorist attack, they are entitled to shoot them down. Greetings from Germany Axel & Nici
