Not only the matchup is very lopsided in Min Min's favor, but Proto is one of the only top players with legitimate Ice Climbers experience. The character is extremely uncommon everywhere... except for Japan, which has a surprising good amount of Ice Climbers representation.

Fun fact: The reason Proto picked MinMin as a secondary is because he hates ice climbers. He even said that his goal was to make Icies go extinct by dominating them with his MinMin.

It’s been a long time so I don’t blame the commentators for not knowing but Proto and Big D have fought before and it was pretty bad. So it was not likely that Lucina would ever come out. Icies is also one of the reasons Proto picked up Min Min in the first place according to an interview he did with Larry Lurr

How does Proto tilt attack so consistently? I smash attack on accident so often with min min.

In Smash's controller settings you should have it set the "tilt stick" so that instead of having to choose a direction and press A, you just flip the C-stick in whatever direction you want which makes it WAAAYY easier to avoid accidentally smash attacking.
