What they dont tell the audience is that the vat is very old and rusty and ofcourse a giant vat filled with a viscous fluid and thousands of souls would make it very heavy to push. So it makes sense he couldnt push it himself. Shaggy couldve still grabbed the souls one by one though

If i remember correctly, both the novelization and the original draft of the script explain why Shaggy couldnt tip the vat over. Its because it was very old and the tipping mechanisms were seized due to rust. Plus, its a giant vat filled with souls thay i assume have mass and weight consodering he could touch them and bounce them, and the water theyre in. I wouldnt be surprised if the vat, with the souls and water weighed around 1,000lbs to 1,800lbs

Also in the novelization, it was said that Shaggy, after he found and freed his friends, felt bad about the other souls still trapped in the vat and he really wanted to free them all, but there wasn't much time to pick them all out one by one. He also vowed that once they solved the mystery, they'll come back and free them all.

Lmao I saw that, people keep bashing this films CGI but i think it holds up pretty well today. Especially the CGI for the souls. Imo there has never been better looking or feeling soul depicted since this film

Both of these effects are horrible, in their very own ways. The CGI’s in Thor love and thunder we’re atrociously ugly. And this one, it’s just very 90s dated. They look like PlayStation 2 & Gamcube graphics. 🎮 but to that credit. That does personally make me appreciate about wanting to go play an early 2000’s video game like Mario Kart Wii or Sonic Heroes.😁
