Prototype 1999 Baby Furby?

furby specialist here; this is a completely normal 1999 confetti baby! there is a glitch where the voice can become out of sync and either very low (like seen here,) or very fast, squeaky and high-pitched compared to their normal tone. he doesn't have a "shelby baby" voicebox, because he has the exact same mannerisms, vocab and vocal patterns as all other furby babies. also, "tickle baby" is a phrase some say! your furby is fine; just a little different. ^_^

I actually have an answer to this one! This is a product of a capacitor issue, the low voice and some of the other abnormalities you listed.

his speaker is just messed up/glitchy. Prototype furby babies actually ran the adult software and it seems like your little guy has the correct programing for a production line furby baby. 1999 furbies are so old that all sorts of things can happen to them glitches and such are kind of common now but at least he still works! He sounds like a little frog!

Mine was just like that, I think it's just a circuitry defect from the factory. I had the blue baby and the black adult Furby while growing up. :3

It's either the capacitor is broken in the Furby that controls the voice speed and pitch is probably broken or got damaged or could maybe be defective it could also be his voice was put that little by mistake in the factory.

these furbies never had a clock resistor. they don't play sound clips. it is a speech synthesis chip.

Yes that could be a possibility. I heard that 1999 baby furbys voices were done by a women so perhaps his voice is a part edited voice but not a full edited voice.

i have an answer for this one! whats going on is incorrect data written to the eeprom, which is responsible for retaining the voice, name, and proficiency (language learning) of the furby, even when the furby is turned off or batteries are removed. a hard restart will fix this issue. to perform a hard restart, turn the furby upside down and press and hold the tongue button. while holding the furby upside with your finger in his mouth, press the reset button

the voice could be because, alongside names, furbies sorta randomize a pitch for their voice, and yours might've gotten very unfortunate lmfao saying "tickle baby" instead of "me [name]" is a glitch which happens when eeprom memory has incorrect data. in this sort of situation, furby will choose an unusual phrase as a name (and won't say "me" before it because it's kinda a part of actual furby names) about the issue with playing games, i'm not sure what's happed, but mix of all these things at once could be because it got hard-reset or first played with when it had low/mixed batteries. hard reset might help, but it would be a shame to lose such an unique furby, and you especially sound like you're enjoying this strange little guy (who wouldn't!!) edit: ok nvm can't play _when sick_ i think that's normal

A strange thing happened I’ve noticed with furbys is slight variation, I bought four brand new Christmas Furbys and one had a red speaker, one had transparent ear pieces, and one had parts from what seems like a Furby Baby, there not modified and I bought them brand new so I’m a little confused lol

It’s no prototype. The prototypes had mostly a rough plastic ( due to experiments with 3D printing) and they used the regular Circuit Box with the normal voice but also a very high pitched version of the normal voice. Your Furby uses the Baby words and has a very smooth plastic. So I think something with the capacitors or the circuit board is wrong 🤷‍♂️

I have a scary (and true) story about my Furby Baby. During the day I wanted to get it out to have some fun with it. When I tried it I turned it over to wake it up and it said aaaaaaaaaaaaaaah without moving. I thought nothing of it then put it back. That night, I was lying in bed and I couldn't stop thinking about the Furby. That was when I heard a loud noise, then a couple of sounds and the loud noise over and over again. I looked at the Furby and it was going crazy, the only way it would stop was by yanking out the batteries.
