Prototype Polycarbonate High Tunnel 96' long 26.5' wide. Discussion on design and water system.

This was our first high tunnel we built using polycarbonate. Framing construction is very different for use with polycarbonate panels versus polyethylene film. The solution we came up to support the polycarbonate exterior is to use purlins on 2' centers.

Lived in a place where the ground was caliche hard pan, I watered the soil for 18hrs and was able to dig down 3in before my mini ex was spitting sparks off the teeth again. After 4 years of adding compost yearly I was growing huge stargazer lilies in 110 degree heat. I like the shorter ceiling of that greenhouse, seems like tomatoe hooks would hang well from all those trusses. Beautiful work!
