SmoothOn is the brand. Mold master is made out of wood or some other material. Use your enginuity.

Great video. Please what did you use to paint the epoxy case, and what was used for the finishing? Thanks.
@ADPTraining2 жыл бұрын
So this was the old Epoxy by a company called SmoothOn. Then I started using SmoothOn Onyx, which is a black Epoxy that needs no paint. Onyx is also made by SmoothOn. The Onyx comes in two flavors, Fast and Slow. The fast Onyx dries in 5 minutes and you need to move fast. I do all my enclosure using the fast Onyx for mass production. I hope that helps out. It took me a long time to discover this Epoxy thanks to a friend of mine, John Zeidec a tough czech American from New Jersey that passed away in 2017 in West Virginia. My friend.

What is that off white material you are using for your prototype that you show right in the beginning? I understand the molding process, but I'm trying to research the best way to make the plug.
@ADPTraining5 жыл бұрын
It's the epoxy for the cast, actual enclosure. It's from a company called Smoothon in PA. So is the mold silicone. They're a life saver for prototyping. You said "Best way to make plug?", What's that mean? Thanks for posting.
@K_Rose_b5 жыл бұрын
@@ADPTraining The plug is what the "original" item that you are casting is called. I've seen people make their plugs out of foam, or 3d print them. But that case is kinda big to 3d print (for a small desktop printer), and I dont think you can get that level of fine detail with foam.

Why not 3D print?
@ADPTraining3 жыл бұрын
The finish on lower end 3D prints is not that great. This level of finish is unrivaled. High end 3D prints are great, but at very high machine costs. A few years back I built my own 3D printer and experimented a lot. Soon it'll be factible to 3D print all kinds of stuff.
