For the most part, I feel that some valid and helpful points were illustrated in this video. However, I also feel that someone can effectively emphasize their point without making rhetorical comments. Most importantly, I feel that more emphasis needs to be put on the fact that approaching the situation with patience and understanding may not come easily to parents who experienced childhood trauma and abuse. I feel that parents need to be in a good place mentally and emotionally before they can realistically deal with whatever issues their child is having. Food for thought.

Can you please tell me how to overcome fear when riding a slide in the park ? I am quite scared of slides .
@KreativeLeadership
@KreativeLeadership Жыл бұрын
Certainly, and sincere apologies for not responding sooner! Overcoming the fear of riding a slide at the park can be achieved with a few simple steps: 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐒𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐥: Begin with a slide that's small and not too intimidating. Gradually work your way up to larger slides as you become more comfortable. 𝐎𝐛𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐞 𝐎𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐬: Watch other children or adults using the slide. This can help demystify the experience and make it seem less frightening. 𝐓𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐈𝐭 𝐒𝐥𝐨𝐰: 𝐃𝐨𝐧'𝐭 𝐫𝐮𝐬𝐡. Take your time climbing up and sitting at the top of the slide. Deep breaths can help calm your nerves. 𝐇𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐚 𝐁𝐮𝐝𝐝𝐲: If possible, have a friend or family member go down the slide with you. Knowing you're not alone can provide a sense of security. 𝐕𝐢𝐬𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐳𝐞 𝐒𝐮𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬: Before you slide down, close your eyes and visualize yourself safely reaching the bottom with a smile. Positive imagery can help reduce anxiety. 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐲 𝐑𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐱𝐞𝐝: Keep your body relaxed as you go down the slide. Tensing up can make the experience scarier. 𝐑𝐞𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟: After successfully using the slide, reward yourself with something you enjoy, like a treat or a fun activity. This positive reinforcement can help build confidence. 𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞: The more you use slides, the more accustomed you'll become to the sensation. Repeated exposure can help diminish fear. 𝐒𝐞𝐞𝐤 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭: If your fear of slides is particularly strong and interferes with your enjoyment at the park, consider talking to a therapist or counselor who can provide guidance on managing specific phobias. Remember, overcoming a fear takes time and patience. Celebrate small victories along the way, and don't be too hard on yourself if progress is slow. With persistence and gradual exposure, you can conquer your fear of riding slides and enjoy the park to the fullest! Hope this helps!

I'm not a child psychologist, but I can offer some general tips that might help your child with their fear of insects. Remember, it's always a good idea to consult a professional for personalized advice: 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐲 𝐂𝐚𝐥𝐦: First and foremost, it's important for you to stay calm when your child encounters insects. Children often look to their parents for cues on how to react. 𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: Teach your child about insects. Sometimes, understanding more about what they're afraid of can make it seem less scary. 𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐮𝐚𝐥 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐞: Consider introducing insects gradually and in controlled settings. For example, start with pictures of insects and then move on to observing them from a safe distance. 𝐏𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐢𝐧𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐜𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭: Praise and reward your child for being brave when facing their fear, even if it's a small step. Positive reinforcement can go a long way. 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: Have a distraction strategy in place. When your child encounters an insect, try redirecting their attention to something else they enjoy. 𝐂𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐚 𝐒𝐚𝐟𝐞 𝐒𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐞: Make sure your home is insect-proof. Seal windows, use screens, and keep doors closed. This can help your child feel safer indoors. 𝐒𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠: Sometimes, creating a story or a character that takes the fear away from the insect can help. For example, you could create a friendly "bug buddy." 𝐒𝐞𝐞𝐤 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐇𝐞𝐥𝐩: If your child's fear is significantly impacting their daily life or seems extreme, consider consulting a child psychologist or therapist who specializes in phobias and anxieties. Remember that overcoming fears can take time, and each child is unique. Be patient and supportive, and try different strategies to see what works best for your child. Hope this helps.

Hello Ketki. Try talking to your child to understand the trigger for her fear. She might have seen or heard something, or could be some other simple reason too. If that doesn't work, please talk to a child psychologist. They will be able to help identify the trigger for your child's fear. It is important to address the root cause.

My child is suddenly scared of the bath an I’m struggling helping him over come this
@KreativeLeadership
@KreativeLeadership Жыл бұрын
Hello! I am not a mental health professional, but here are a few things (from my limited experience) you can do to help your child overcome their fear: *Talk to the child:* It's important to have an open and honest conversation with the child to understand the root cause of their fear. Try to be patient and empathetic, and reassure the child that their feelings are valid. *Gradual Exposure:* Start by gradually exposing the child to water, such as by filling up a basin with water and having the child dip their toes in. As the child becomes more comfortable, gradually increase the amount of water until they are ready to take a bath. *Provide Distractions:* Offer the child toys or activities to keep them distracted and occupied during the bath. This can help them focus on something positive and enjoyable rather than their fear. *Make the bath time fun:* Try to make bath time fun by adding bubbles, colorful bath toys, or playing music. This can help the child associate the bath with positive experiences. *Address sensory issues:* If the child has sensory issues, try to make the bath as comfortable and soothing as possible. This might mean adjusting the water temperature, using a special bath mat or cushion, or using a different type of soap or shampoo. *Seek professional help:* If the child's fear of baths persists or is severe, it may be helpful to seek the guidance of a mental health professional who can provide additional support and guidance. Hope this helps.

It sounds like your child is experiencing some anxiety related to what they're watching on TV. Here are a few tips that might help: 𝐎𝐩𝐞𝐧 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: Talk to your child about their fears and concerns. Ask them what specifically worries them about the TV show. Knowing their specific fears can help you address them better. 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐰 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭: Before letting your child watch a new TV show or episode, consider previewing it yourself to ensure it's age-appropriate and doesn't contain any scary or distressing scenes. 𝐋𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐭 𝐒𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐓𝐢𝐦𝐞: Ensure that your child's screen time is balanced and within recommended guidelines for their age. Too much exposure to certain content can contribute to anxiety. 𝐖𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡 𝐓𝐨𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫: Watch the TV show with your child. This way, you can provide comfort and reassurance during potentially scary scenes. 𝐂𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐚 𝐒𝐚𝐟𝐞 𝐄𝐧𝐯𝐢𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭: Make sure your child feels safe and secure while watching TV. Dim the lights, provide a cozy blanket, and create a comfortable viewing environment. 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐫 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬: If your child becomes anxious during a show, have some calming distractions ready, such as a favorite toy or a comforting snack. 𝐂𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐀𝐠𝐞-𝐀𝐩𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭: Select TV shows and movies that are suitable for your child's age and maturity level. There are many child-friendly options available. 𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐮𝐚𝐥 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐞: If your child is particularly sensitive to certain themes, consider gradually exposing them to similar but less intense content to help desensitize their fears. 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬: Pay attention to your child's reactions during and after watching TV. If their anxiety persists or seems severe, it might be a good idea to consult a pediatrician or child psychologist for guidance. Remember that children's fears and sensitivities can vary widely, and what works best for one child may not work for another. Your understanding and support can go a long way in helping your child manage their anxiety while watching TV. Hope this helps.

What do we if a3 year old is suddenly scared of decks and bridges?
@KreativeLeadership
@KreativeLeadership 4 жыл бұрын
Hello Nidhi. Fear of bridges is called Gephyrophobia. As with most phobias, the root of the problem can be attributed to a variety of factors. Try talking to your child to find out the root cause (if possible). My younger daughter (when she was 5) was suddenly terrified in the nights...terrified of shadows and curtains. I then came to know that she (inadvertently) saw something on the TV (for just a minute) that really scared her out of her wits. She had this fear for almost 3 months. We addressed it by talking to her about her fear and make her face the situation to realize that there was nothing to fear in the first place. But it was a long-drawn process. Most kids cope with normal fears with gentle support from their parents. As they grow, they get over fears they had at a younger age. But, some kids have a harder time, and need more help with fears. I am not an expert or qualified to make an assessment. If fears are extreme or keep your child from doing normal things, it might be a sign of an anxiety disorder. Talk to your doctor if your child's fears: * seem extreme or last past the normal age * cause your child to be very upset or have tantrums * keep your child from doing things - like going to school, sleeping alone, or being apart from you * cause physical symptoms (like stomachaches, headaches, or a racing heart) or your child feels breathless, dizzy, or sick Hope this helps. Thanks.

@KreativeLeadership
@KreativeLeadership 4 жыл бұрын
@@nidhi31882 Again, with a disclaimer that I am no expert 🙂 Usually, people with this phobia may have witnessed a traumatic accident, or may have had direct contact with someone who experienced an incident while driving across a bridge, or fallen off a deck. When people with this fear drive over bridges or walk on decks, they may flash back to moments where they thought they were in impending danger. They may also feel that disaster could happen at any moment, maybe the bridge could collapse or the driver could lose control of the vehicle. Reading your comment, I feel that there must be a trigger factor. We need to identify that to help him better. I would suggest that you talk to your son to find out if he witnessed something like that, or watched something like that. Or, did he fall off your deck? Or, maybe, a friend or sibling told him some scary story about bridges or decks? Try talking to him. In my case, I had to talk to my daughter again and again to make her open up. If that doesn't work you can always consult with a therapist who can help immediately.

Yes! Comfort them! That is the answer. There's a saying, "time heals all wounds", but this is not true. "Comfort" heals. Romans 15:4 For all the things that were written beforehand were written for our instruction, so that through our endurance and through the comfort from the Scriptures we might have hope. 2 Corinthians 1:3,4 Praised be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of tender mercies and the God of all comfort, 4 who comforts us in all our trials so that we may be able to comfort others in any sort of trial with the comfort that we receive from God.
