Maybe too late for this trip but you should try IECharge in France. Presently €0.25 per KW, 160or 320KW speeds. Normally close to main routes, not on them, without facilities. For 21pence a KW, super fast charging what's not to like.

Thanks for the comment! IECharge was one we were tempted to include but didn't quite fit into the route we were taking (I think there is one near Arras?). We do believe that price is only one consideration though - facilities on offer, shelter from sun/rain and personal safety also important but great to have choice and a range of options!!

@@ComeChargeWithUs-e8x With IE there won't be any shelter but equally there won't be any issue with personal safety as your only company are likely to be some inquisitive cows or horses. To keep the prices low they are normally in very rural localities, close to a convenient sub station. Then again I've never considered personal safety an issue in France or Spain where we normally live, though we don't use the A7 motorway often.

@@JohnCourtman I think during the day it's fine but at night for a woman alone at night perhaps a little more disconcerting? I do love the business model though, put the chargers where the grid already has capacity rather than trying to take the grid to services stations which were probably never designed with a 'good grid connection' as one of their criteria. I also like the approach of putting charging in the picnic Aires (as featured in the vid), something you can't do as easily with a petrol station.

Is Autocharge for all vehicles or just Tesla?

The Electra app tells you if your vehicle is compatible but they don't provide a list of which cars are compatible and which are not.
