Twenty years ago, I switched a 16 acre clover plot to a 14 acre bramble/pricker briar plot with 2 acres of surgum, sun flower and corn along the stand side. Best choice I ever made. Enjoy your videos

After logging, I’ve seen bramble or other thick thorn bushes get so thick that you can’t walk sideways throw. Any advice on how to spray a path to stand sights? What to use? I’ve noticed it’s became predator heaven now

Depending on your location prescribed fire and more sunlight from follow up TSI would drastically help, if herbicide is your best option, garlon 3A might be your best option applied in late spring.

Have you ever converted a 280 acre hay field to a deer habitat That will hold deer ?

Not necessarily on that scale, in one contiguous piece..

I know I can implement this on some of my SW facing slopes on my farm in Illinois. Are there any documented studies with this type of management that shows poult survival rates increases? How many "islands" of TSI would you recommend for every 100 acres of closed canopy type woods?

It is more about site index and knowing most south and west facing slops in Illinois should be more woodland, 50-70% canopy cover and not 95% plus. If you have those slopes its time to implement TSI on them.
