The Province of Ifugao is known for four of its dances, mainly, the Ittetem, Ay Ayet, Dinuyya, and Pagaddut.
The traditional Ifugao song Ittetem expresses reasons why someone feels cold, needs to sit, rest, eat, then sleep after traveling from a very far place, as the song says “daddawi, dawin bobleh,” a very far place
Ay Ayet, on the other hand, is a song that conveys a man’s desire to marry the woman he loves. The woman accepts the man because of his bravery.
While Dinuyya is a festival dance from Lagawe. This is being performed in social gatherings and other festivities that celebrate important ceremonies such as the Cañao which is a thanksgiving or a wedding.
Lastly, The Pagaddut is a traditional Kiangan wedding dance. Tobab refers to the lead dancers, whereas Mambab or Inumtubab refers to the gong drummers.
