I see a lot of people lamenting that Storms ult was Support countered each time, which does feel bad on a personal level. But in the grand scheme of things going even 1 for 1 on Storm ult for a Luna/Mantis ult I think is serious value. If you change your frame of thinking from, Storms ult getting countered to -> Hard forcing a support ult that the enemy team can't capitalize on; You can see how, that Luna was getting NOTHING out of her ult most of the time, Just playing damage control and trying to hold the point. Their team wasn't getting to push forward, or get picks a lot of the time. Think of how many Dr. Strange ults Ben's team got, with no support to answer for it. Meanwhile, Ben could force ult, run around to ensure they had to stay put, then skedaddle at the end. At the end of the day getting the MVP with a giga ult isn't what wins you games most of the time.

Glad to see more people taking a look at the underused characters and trying to make them work. What makes them work, and how you can use them to your advantage. And I enjoyed the other videos since they showed what she is trying to do and that's to get the enemy grouped up and cleave through enemies. I do think she needs a little more something. I won't say it's simple as "Oh numbers need to be big". Nor do I think her kit needs to be reworked. I would suggest having the primary fire be more effected by what weather you got up and their enhancements. Like maybe lightning does give you more power, but wind should do more then a speed boost. Maybe increase fire rate, especially since it is wind she is throwing out. And the enhanced versions should add something more. Like besides a greater boost of damage with lightning, the projectile can go a lot faster. Making it easier to hit enemies with if you are facing just one. And wind enhanced should make the projectile bigger. Go more for the crowd control as you are sending big wind blades that are more likely to hit multiple people. This way it gives players more of a choice on what to do with the aura buffs and how that effects your own gameplay. Where one can focus on single targets and the other on groups of people.

There were so many times in this video where he's right in the enemy teams face, basically. In any of those situations, I would have been instantly focused and melted so they could get rid of my damage buff, but it's like he completely got ignored like 50% of the time.

Maybe try to look for the obvious answer? Positioning and movement, notice how he is always bobbing and weaving behind cover and even then he is also constantly going up and down keeping his movement as erratic as possible making himself hard to hit. You need to learn to use not only wasd but space bar and left control with storm because of the verticality in her movement. Also high rank teams play in neat coordinated stacks because that's how you play, your tanks up front blocking damage with the healers hiding behind. Storm is unique because she is the only character that can take advantage of that. You could argue Moonknight too to some extent but his works a little different. Yeah in piss low ranks everyone just does whatever with little to no coordination, so Storm can't get as much value from her cleave.

Agreed, Storm just can’t really compete with the majority of other characters on the roster and she needs something else to give her that boost. She should have like a laser blast type move similar to Iron Man but more of a short burst of energy rather than a continuous beam, just something with high damage and short burst rather than relying on her slow tiny pellets that feel like they don’t do anything significant. Either that or increase the size and damage of her primary fire and give her a secondary shot that bursts out lightning sort of like Winston’s secondary fire in OW2.

in settings you can change storm's shift to a hold instead of toggle, it allows you to animation cancel her abilities and primary whilst only damaging per shot so you are more mobile in-between primary shots etc also makes her abilities invisible... cause yk... why not right at range, damage boost will apply to a projectile in motion, so you can shoot it in speed form then boost it as it hits a target. niche trick but helps in range duals or vs other flyers

Yeah you got it upside down, Hela does 70% of 70dmg damage at 30m (70->49) and storm does 50% (50->25). With boosted thunder aura she would do 32.5(1.3*50*0.5->33.5) so still much less than Hela. And of course Hela is hitscan, can headshot, has a 20% damage teammup bonus, a better escape, more burst abilities, a stun, invincibility frames on ultimate etc. I understand where you're coming from though, I'd also hope the dev team wouldn't be as brain dead as they were when releasing Hela in that state, but for now she truly is OP AF

Thanks for the video, I'm generally a Tank/Supp user since I prefer helping my friends (we 4~6 stack sometimes) and I've pushed away from most DPS but Storm just feels comfy in an environment with comms, her damage boost is particularly tasty for some characters and when you understand how she works she's really fun. Seeing how well she can do potentially gives me hope too, I'm definitely not reaching those heights but she's not as bad as people make her out to be. Definitely needs something more to her primary fire though, for as much practice as you can give it and piercing being a bit more of a hassle than good if the enemy supports are good it still feels unnecessarily gimped, I hope her incoming buffs help her out.

Sick storm gameplay! I feel like your raw aim is better than most people I've seen try to play her, which helps you feel more impactful for sure. I also disagree about her Thor team up being weak! It does 50 damage hitting up to 4 targets, it's hitscan up to 60 meters iirc and even has a little aoe(meaning you can whiff slightly and it still hits, I'm not sure if you can get two chains going at once lol) AND when combined with your E in lighting, the damage goes up to 65x4. I use it like an upgraded right click, to secure kills and build ult charge really fast. You get something like 16-20% if you're in damage buff and land all the hits. I think it being on a 20s cd is a bit of a bummer, it being 15 would maybe be a nice buff, but overall it really seems to help her damage/ult generation, which in turn gives her more damage

The thing is, you have to pick Thor. Understandably, anything 'can' be viable, but picking two slightly weaker characters to enable 1 ability (while ok damage can still miss and be shielded so your 20s might be 40 or 60 to see that single full damage value). Wow, watching you play storm really made me want to revisit the character. Seeing how you played closer to the ground and making use of the map to not get instantly destroyed is pretty impressive. The ult basically forcing the luna to pop ult every time you use it is also pretty nice and could probably help my friends out. Totally trying her out again with the new buff on the way.

That's technically true but there's a risk and reward factor here. Storm can do great damage with good aim but if u put Hawkeye or Hela, or even Iron Man in that player's hand they would deal double the damage. Her being a flyer and slow also make her very high risk, anyone can hit her out of the sky. Not saying she's a bad character, but she's a needlessly underpowered character

Honestly what’s the point for storm instead of Iron man for most people? I mean Iron man does more damage/splash damage, has a beam to be able to fight closer/harder to hit targets and has the mobility option. I don’t see any reason to really play Storm since the team utility function means that I am closer to the enemy line of sight making it not enough pay off. It was still nice to see especially since storm is supposed to be getting some sort of buff.

1. Her alt is as good if not better than IM 2. Her damage boost adds utility that IM doesn't have 3. Her projectile has a piercing quality that is completely unique and a cooler aoe imo (though needs to be a bigger and or faster) 4. It's Storm? Idk bro I'd rather be looking at Storm for hours than a billionaire cosplaying as a superhero

Storm is being slept on big time. Ive turned a lot of L's around by swapping to Storm as a 1,3,2 with her ability to hold angles, provide buffs and her ulti.
