ya sure that could be a possible way as depreciation amount is indirectly transferring to P&L A/C. Reason - depreciation in provision for depreciation a/c will be cross-posted to depreciation A/C and from there it will be transferred to P&L A/C if you didn't get this prepare depreciation a/c you will automatically get your answer

@@kunaljotwani4467 depreciation A/C receives the amount by cross-posting in its debit side and that amount is transferred as an expense from the credit of dep a/c to p&l a/c but directly transferring amt from provision for dep to p&l a/c will also depict the same thing just one step is skipped. then in p&l a/c provision for dep would be debited instead of dep a/c

Preparing provision for depreciation a/c has its own utilities as it charge depreciation without effecting the original cost of asset. We can also directly charge depreciation in assets account but it depends upon question asked.
