PLEASE! More Pro Vista back yard content! I'm only about 30 miles north of you, and just had a huge outbreak of large patch in my newly (fall 23) sodded pro vista front yard, and did a double dose of azoxy + prop to clear it up, and did a bioadvanced 3 in 1 since the weed pressure was getting serious. Show me what YOU do, and the results you get so I can have a goal with it!

Also perfect content in that I was going to throw in the DIY towel this year because of the damage on my St Augustine by constant disease and annoying mole crickets and possible voles/moles etc. Then there is the invasion of spittle bugs, orange/red translucent like dragon Flys, white moth like things and what might look like web worms in the morning. 😫😵‍💫 you always somehow give me confidence that just maybe I can wrangle this lawn in before an HOA letter or $60 monthly Safari lawn treatment. 😝

Allyn, looking through N-ext products you say you can mix liquid fert together, but can you mix say GreenEffect with prodiamine Pre-Emergent?
@Thelawncarenut
@Thelawncarenut 8 ай бұрын
Good question! I would not recommend that. Not because they will clump or anything like that, but mainly because prodiamine needs to be watered in and the Greene Effect needs to sit on the leaves. Greene Effect is the only Next product that is made specifically for foliar absorption. Now, you could mix them, spray, let it sit for an hour and then water and all would be fine, but really, it's best to separate them.

That looked like a big healthy crassula jade. You might regret giving that a ton of soil unless it's really lean and very free draining. I think that plant would make due in a pot a quarter that size. It'd be easier to move, too.
@Thelawncarenut
@Thelawncarenut 8 ай бұрын
Thanks for the advice. I have excellent drainage in that pot but the potting soil has just sunken, I assume just as organic material has broken down over time, and probably some soil loss out the bottom. I was planning to keep it in the same pot and just use cactus soil with added perlite. I've watched videos where people prune the roots completely on these and bonsai them (in shallow pots like you suggested) which I want to try, but I also just want to see how big it will get if I leave it alone and just do light pruning and leave it in that big pot.

So you slightly misspoke about the RoundUp. The Super Concentrate (the one in purple bottle) actually does only contain Glyphosate, and it’s actually at a higher percentage than the Hi-Yield Killzall (50.2% compared to 41%). I faced this dilemma when reading the bottles at Ace, but if you do the math the Killzall is a much better bang for your buck. The Super Concentrate costs $60 for a 35.2oz => $1.70/oz The Killzall costs $37 for 32oz => $1.15/oz So you’re paying 1.70 / 1.15 = ~47% more per oz for the RoundUp, but only getting 9.2% more Glyphosate. Might be worth doing a follow up video to make people aware.

Looking great on spreading, could you pull more plugs from your yard to fill in faster?

I thought peelage was your nickname in college. Happy New year . Love my ProVista KBG but will not be using anymore Glyphosate on the weeds. Had bad results using it so will stick to hand pulling as they come up. Make sure the oz. per gallon of water is correct or will burn the lawn as I experienced .

I saw that you burned it last year and that is very surprising to me. Maybe the KBG is sensative because the SA can take a lot and doesn't even get phased. What rate did you use?

@@Thelawncarenut I used 2oz per gallon of water and found out later from Jake and doing more research should have used only .75oz per gallon of water 🤦🏻‍♂

I run a lawn care company the The Villages which has installed 1000's of ProVista lawns. it has been a nightmare grass for all involved as it struggles when all maintenance is not perfect and is very slow to recover once damaged. The Villages stopped installing it this year because of all the issues. in rare cases when it is installed well and maintained properly right from installation it can give a very nice lawn but that is not how it normally happens with new homes.

It is very slow growing which he has mentioned several times. If it is neglected it will take a long time to recover. it isnt for everyone but the fact that it is glyphosate tolerant is huge.

I've heard about the nightmares over there with it. I think one area replaced most of it a year after install.
