I’ll just tag on here. Excellent insight regarding the work in the lawn. Gosh I love it. Retired early at 60 from a senior executive position 5 years ago and finally have the time to pursue my lawn/landscape passions. But the old body is feeling the pain now and I’m so disappointed I may not get to enjoy it longer term. Staying relentless though and ordered my first reel mower this week. My wife knows if she finds me lifeless in the yard one day, I will have died a happy man.

@@phillipingram4909 that is great you’ve found a current passion. Pace yourself, slow and steady and you’ll have your best chance of continuing to work in the yard doing what you love. Cheers.

Allyn, good video, but one suggestion. When spraying glyphosate, always start at your farthest point in your yard and work your way back towards your mixing location in case you need to mix up more. By starting at the farthest point in your yard you will not be walking where you just sprayed and get the chemicals all over your shoes because if you did get it on your shoes and walk through your lawn those footprint areas could and probably would die. Be careful where you spray and where you walk when using glyphosate.

The Foxtail (or the Royal Palm) is the best as far as pruning. But you do have to prune the seed/little coconut branches, which can get very big and heavy.

Great video! My favorite palm trees are the Fox Tail and the Royal Palm. I used to live in Ponte Vedra, FL. and I had 8 Queen palms and 3 Robellini palm trees. I was told the Queens had a 70% failure rate in Jacksonville, FL. area. I used Lutz palm tree spikes and the trees grew fast and were beautiful. My neighbors tried growing Queens without the Lutz spikes and the trees died. I have no affiliation with Lutz but I wanted to share my results using slow-release fertilizer spikes. Lutz spikes are sold online. The palm food in the store is garbage.

Allyn, have u ever considered doing a video for fertilizing/treating your lawn if you own pets? I understand if it gets complicated and don't want to give advice on it. I really only struggle with what I call the dandelion treatment for my grass. I was using Scotts Yellow bag, but i bought a spray that I plan on using on the front yard this year. If I get good results I might consider spraying the backyard where our dog enjoys the lawn. I called my vet and they recommended having the dog stay off the lawn for 3 days. That makes it hard to balance the dog being able to go out and do his business in the yard. I just wondered how you balance your lawn care now that you own a pooch too. This is the treatment that I dread because it's not just throw it down and go from there. I know I have to get over it because my lawn is being invaded by clover and some other nasty weeds.

I try to find some value in watching your KZbin content after I see Cleetus used your services for helping revamp the grassed areas within his freedom factory facility. I get the message your a lawn man who is focused on supporting the general population in how to better care for their grasses. I myself once used services who come and help manage the grassed areas on my large 4000 land surface, well maybe 2.500 after removing the enormous pond / private lake and roads into the property. What I cannot except is as the person who needs to set the example you are failing to ensure your total grassed areas are correctly watered. It’s not an unfathomable job to spend the required time to dig the additional trenches and give the lawn the water in all areas needed. So that’s my thoughts, I do wish your future on KZbin a success, I just do not feel captured when I see there is such a low effort to remedy the situation at your own house
