Okay so I just bought the truck and it has the wires all riped it dosnt have the stock connecter like if they stole the radio and riped everything out I have a new radio but I don’t know how to connect it to the truck wires what color is the grown and the one to the battery to turn it on Please help

Maybe, but most likely not very much. It might give you more options as for as an equalizer or other input methods though, and it gives you more options for speaker expansion in some cases.

Why did you change the deck ? The soundstream system looked like a better unit , looked to be a slide out touch screen

first, this is a very old video, and SSL units are very poor quality. second, the Pioneer installed (years ago now) had a much better audio quality, processor, and RCA output voltage, an overall better unit. third, sometimes we don't get to decide what radio the customer wants, they ultimately get the choice what they want in their truck.

I have a 2004 dodge ram 1500 stock head unit with infinity speakers do you recommend upgrading them when changing the head unit? Sounds pretty bad right now with no bass. I guess what I'm asking is will the speakers I have defeat any head unit upgrade? I'm not sure if it already has amplified bass or any thing else hard to find any information.

You will hear a sound quality improvement, but you will still have the bottleneck of poor factory speakers. Start with the radio, then see how it sounds. If it's still poor, replace the speakers.

Generally that is the mute wire. Just cap it off.

Great video, very informative. I have a quick question for you though. How do I know if my truck(2005 Dodge ram quad cab) has the base system or the infinity system installed? Are there any markings or something to signify that it's one or the other? I have more questions but let's start with this one first. It might answer the rest. Thank you in advance.

Generally the Infinity logo will be on the speaker grills of each speaker.

Sweet I had to tie all the wires together, but when I went to turn it on the antenna wire touched the other exposed wire and started smoking which caused the electrical tape to melt a little, it turned on and worked perfect, but as soon as the wires touched it hasn’t worked since, so I guess I shorted a wire some were huh? Any suggestions?

Hook up the blue wire or blue white wire on the harness adapter to your radio's amplifier trigger wire (also indicated by blue /white generally), that is your remote turn on wire and will trigger your factory amp to turn on.

If I mirrored this install on my 02 ram (non infinity) with the pioneer 6010bs why would I only have highs coming out or front doors... no speakers installed in the dash... only four coaxial, one in each door. Matched the colors on wiring harness and metered the front door wiring good for continuity. Is there an factory amp I would have to bypass or something. Pls help

You still may have a factory amp, non infinity brand. On your wiring harness, be sure that the blue or blue / white wire is hooked up to your radio's blue / white wire. Give that a shot.

Hey so i wired everything and hooked it up and I tested it it went on let me through the set up and wasn't getting any radio feedback so I just checked the back of it to make sure the antenna plug was plugged back in and put it back and now the stereo doesn't even turn on

Check all wiring connections, check your fuses. Use a multi meter to test for continuity.

The fuse box under the hood by the battery and there is a fuse box on the driver side behind the knee panel underneath the steering wheel. Check to make sure the radio fuses are not blown. Generally there is a fuse diagram.

start checking fuses. Use a multi-meter and that will get you going in the right direction.

A double din does not fit in the factory location without modifying and cutting the dash bezel. If you want a double din without the extra work, try purchasing a flip out monitor radio which will work fine in this application. If you see the infinity Sound system logo in the truck, you have the upgraded amplified system. If not, most likely it is the basic setup.

Probably the question you been waiting to hear. I have 03 ram, got the same CD player and connectors. Matched the colours to the adapters. When I power on it worked ok for about five minutes when I was in a call then I lost connection with the caller about a minute in. Just After that it started going back and forth on the display from Bluetooth on to menu. Back and forth between the to automatically.
