@@cindysue5474 My car was manufactured in April 2022 and I bought it in May. Fortunately for me, the recall notice for the DCT issue never has popped up. To be on the safe side, I've taken the car in for service every 3,000 trouble-free miles. The only "modification" I've made (if you could call it that) was to swap out the OEM Pirelli P Zero tires for a set of the more durable Pirelli P Zero "Elect" version. Road hazards took out two of the original gum erasers before I'd even put 5,000 miles on the car: The "Elect" tires are much more durable and have improved the ride, handling and performance of the car significantly. Speaking of tires, my only complaint about the Kona N is that Hyundai cheaps out and only supplies a so-called "tire mobility kit" instead of an actual spare tire. I shuddered to think if I'd been in the middle of nowhere when I picked up those two tire-killing road hazards. I decided a spare tire was a must, searched online, and found a spare wheel-and-tire package expressly made for the Kona N by Modern Spare. modernspare.com/product/2021-2023-hyundai-kona-n-spare-tire-kit/ The tire is mounted on a wheel that's made to fit over the Kona N's oversized brakes, but is "shallow" enough to rest in the wheel well under rear floor. Voila!

It's really just a tall hatch. Considering they didn't lower it at all over stock, it's only 5 inches taller than my elantra and most of that is just greenhouse. Both the folks on either side of me in my parking garage have Kona's and they are surprisingly small by comparison.

My Mom has one. It is surprisingly snappy and hatchback-y feeling! Also way more planted than you would expect from a pseudo crossover. Fun little car she is!

Not bad I have a 2020 AWD Stinger.Power is very good from this.I do not know if you have driven a stinger but I just top speeded mine and where you were doing about 125 or so the Stinger probably would have been around mid 140s and probably would have caught that pack in front at the beginning.I also have cross drilled and vented Geomet rotors all the way around to go with the brembos and a str8 exhaust welded to the undecarriage of the car no mufflers.

@@DrivingCars I just got a KONA N--after the break in I will film some laps at road ATl--I picked up some pointers watching your vid.I also plan on putting geomet cross drilled and vented rotors on all 4 so I have more confidence entering turns faster.I sold my stinger months ago and the Kona N seems pretty capable for what it is.I have less track time then you but it shows how someone with skill can beat up on a more expensive car--I just came from a CX-30 turbo and here is a video of me taking a 40 MPH sharp turn at 70--about 5 MPH faster then I could in a Type R civic.kzbin.info/www/bejne/jXuaZYuVmJambcU

SAD, I had money down on one and when I found out the test mules were 2WD, I pulled my money. I am forced to build my 1.6T AWD Kona. AWD or no sale. Plus Hyundai put HEAVY cast and even worse, UGLY UGLY wheels on the USA Kona N. WHY could we not have the forged light weight wheels the rest of the world has Hyundai? Cheapskates !!!! We ALWAYS get the crap and reduced options in the USA.

It was an epic moment for Hyundai to make the Kona KING of the brand. Now it nothing but an "also ran" that has too high of a roll center.

There’s speculation that the hp number on the Ns are wheel hp number. People have dyno’d a few Elantra N they have made close to their hp rating to the wheels
