Great video man. Especially liked the when to use grenades part. I used to play with a guy who use to always beat me in 1v1s using that exact system lol. Also cover is more important in Halo than most people realize. Myself included. Sometimes I think I have a shield if I just out shoot the guy with strafe/aim then I'll win but if you go against someone with the same level skill in that regard and they use cover it can be deadly. I've faced it. I just always forget to use cover. Theres something about halo that makes me not instinctually use cover unlike games like battlefield or COD.

+Proximitty I'm not sure cus I've done it on every halo. I think it's cus I feel like I need to make sure I get the kill because if you get shots on them and they get behind a wall or something they can just get their shields back and I feel like I lost my chance to kill them. So I end up rushing people down disregarding cover and my own life lol. Always ben my biggest problem. That and going off on my own in team games. I feel like this happens because I know I need high ground power weapons etc and I'm just always trying to get one of the two. If my team mates aren't doing that then it makes me feel like I need to at least do it to win. When in reality it seems like it's better to just stick with team mates even in a BAD position. Especially on this game. I think some people either don't think high ground is important anymore or just have forgotten how important it was in halo CE cus of all the clambering and thruster packs and all.

also around 10:00 when you're talking about not throwing a nade and you think he's anticipating the time, boost to cancel the grenade animation so you can automatically have your pistol drawn. Catches a lot of people off guard. Also there's a certain timing right after you shoot if you boost it will make the sound of your shot without the shooting animation allowing you to finish kills and get to cover immediately.

+alex hutchings If he does that then you move away from the pole and continue to challenge, I actually address that later in the video. If he's throwing nades then he can't shoot at you, making it an easy kill for you!

It´s really a relief to hear from a very good player that one should play his life more often instead of trying to win every firefight even though the enemy has the upper hand. I love your videos and the tips you provide, thinly problem is the situations you show as examples don't exist in a real game, you never challenge a player 1v1 both players fresh both using the same gun, they will have a different weapon to you, Granada start to fly flushing you out of cover, you get pinched by his wingman. I am an Onyx level player and I don think I have ever danced around a pole with another player and only traded shots.

You're an Onyx level player and you've never been in a straight 1v1 gunfight? That's weird man, also I gave examples of these things happening with actual game play examples in this video! In any case, these situations happen to me all the time and the tips are still good so I hope they can help you out bro :)

+Proximitty of course I've been in a 1v1 haha, I was just pointing out that when you demonstrate things like this you never really address how less experienced player can expect and react to the different variations of this encounter, for example what to do if the other player throws a grenade at you and then quickly darts at you with an AR, or what to do if you are stuck with a magnum and you are dancing with a player that has a BR, I wasn't criticising your video at all, I think the content you provide is phenomenal, I was just trying to point out areas where you could go into more detail and improve on the content you provide, Seriously keep up the good work, the better people get at this game the better the community will become as a whole.

Kurt Ironmonger Thanks man :) But the two examples you just provided you're at a distinct disadvantage so you pretty much have to worldstar the other guy haha No real way to consistently beat someone who is charging at your down shields with an AR or someone with a BR because the BR is so much easier

+Albert2139 do you use the smart link (zooming in) when you use the sword? It makes your lunging distance much farther! Also if your sword reticle is red you can pull the trigger and lung to them, wait until it's red and let it rip!

Hey +proximitty great video, I have a question. Recently I noticed that my strafe has gotten a lot better and I'm working on playing smarter. I also noticed that I tend to spam my magnum and miss shots while I strafe so I'm thinking I need to slow down my shot and and work continue improving on my strafe. My question is how is this slower fire rate going to affect me at the onyx level of play? I recently got back into the tier and I feel like i'm noticing players are spamming their shots more often than not and landing them. I guess this is also partially due to a positioning error on my part as well. Any thoughts?

+thechakzone shooting your magnum at full firing speed is not a bad idea, if you can land all of your shots then you're extremely deadly. That being said, it isn't easy to execute.. especially while performing an intense strafe. Slowing down your shots isn't a bad way to get better at shooting and strafing at the same time, just try to make sure you're gradually shooting faster as the higher level players will punish you for slow shots. Additionally, try to make sure your strafe isn't making you miss, sometimes players get so caught up in strafing it's costing them their accuracy. Try to look out for those few things and just give yourself a little more time, you'll get there man. Keep grinding! :)

Both require keeping the crosshair on your target, but the AR is a different kind of challenge because you can't really count your shots and it almost always requires being exposed longer.
