It's the feedback on the ns872 that you have that I am very interested in, since I bought the same one on Amazon while they had a great sale on it. I'm in the US and I bought mine about a week ago for about $250 counting tax. Mine came with a 24inch bar and chain. I haven't even started mine up yet. So I admit I'm hoping to hear good things about your saw holding up. Lol I admit it was an opportunity buy that I couldn't resist. The saw I was wanting I bought just before this one. A Farmatec G111 top handle saw. A clone of the Stihl Ms200t I use to have and missed. I had to pay more for it and still buy a bar and chain for it. Anyway I'm really rooting for your ns872 to hold up and keep working great for you. That big milling saw looks like a real beast and I hope you have no issues with it. Cool video and thank you for comparing your new saw to the ns872. I was hoping you bought this new saw because you were so impressed with the ns872. Lol Wishing you much success. 😎👍

Hey man, thanks for watching my videos! When i got my ns872 i did a video on it, here is the link kzbin.info/www/bejne/aKaZdIapdryraNE It has been a great saw and is my go to for cutting down trees and making fire wood, though its too big to tote around in my work truck or on the jet boat, which is mostly why i bought this proyama I bought the ns872 also as an opportunity saw because i got it for $275 canadian with the bar and chain. She was a little tough to start at first and still can be, but i have it figured out now. Choke on, 2 pulls, choke off 2 more pulls and she should fire up! It leaks chain bar oil alot so i store it vertical with the bar up, no more leaking. Shes a torqy beast and i actually love the saw! The 105cc milling saw has been awesome! Really easy to start, and torque to no end, perfect for milling, but way to heavy to use for fire wood, but great if i have a huge tree to fall with that 36" bar. Check out my channel and some of my videos, im sure you will enjoy my newer videos!
@williamgrissom19956 ай бұрын
@@FabbinAdventures I watched that ns872 unboxing and first cuts first. I was really glad it turned out to be the same version as mine. The first starts when you fuel up for the first time are always alot more pulls when you don't have a purge bulb to load fuel into the carb. I use to have several Stihl pro saws and they all were pretty much the same that way. Of course Stihl saws are out of reach for me anymore. I subscribed after that first video I watched of yours. Thank you so much for replying and letting me know how you've been using it. I was afraid you was just using it for a small wood milling and I won't be using mine for milling at all. Mine will mainly be used for bucking and not alot of that to be honest. I just really like a great working chainsaw of Stihl's design that holds up good. My G111 will be for little bonfires and camp fires. It's light weight and a clone of one of the most prized arborist saws out there. A used Stihl Ms200t goes for around $600 and can't afford that at all. I'll be looking out for any videos you put out of falling and bucking up trees. 😎👍

@williamgrissom1995 well thanks for watching that video and subscribing. That big 105cc neotec saw started on the 4th or 5th pull if i remember right, and i was so impressed by it that when i found this super sale on the ns872 it was a no brainer to buy it. Unfortunately the prices of these neotec saws on amazon has doubled or tripled and they are not a deal any more. May as well buy a stihl if im gonna only get a chinese knock of for a few buck less. I have a project coming up that i will have to mill some logs for. Maybe i'll turn that into a video. Thanks for watching and commenting!

I bought this saw last week. My experience was totally different. I spent an hour reading the manual front to back, assembled the saw, mixed proper fuel, added bar oil. Checked spark plug, too. Followed start directions exactly as written. 2 hours and probably 300 pulls later, after completely disassembling and reassembling the saw, not only did it not ever run, but I can't even reassemble it anymore. I took the side cover (chain side) off to try to adjust the bar and it simply will not go back together - inside the plastic cover is a metal ring that is supposed to go around the outside of the chain sprocket, but it's too tight and no matter how much I pull, twist, or flex that ring, it will not slip over the sprocket, and therefore I can't secure the side cover. Mine is going back for a refund on Monday.
@FabbinAdventures6 ай бұрын
Well that sucks, isnt that ring the chain brake? Id have to look at mine as im not real familiar with it. But if it is, and i know its a silly question but did you try with the chain brake handle in the unlocked position? Thats too bad because i really like the saw sofar. Are you getting another or just saying to hell with it?..lol
@skruface5 ай бұрын
@@FabbinAdventures I made sure the chain brake was off. I eventually got it back on, but the saw will not start. Started a claim with Amazon,m they stated it could not be returned. Proyama reached out to me when I left a review on Amazon, and sent me a link to a KZbin video showing how to start the saw, but refused to return my money. Spent another 2.5 hours with a neighbor to try and get it running, still will not start. Guess I'm just out the almost $350 I paid for this trash. Lesson learned.

If you haven't already, make sure the carburetor bolts are tight. It is pretty common that they aren't. Also, it is my understanding that the smaller Proyama chainsaws have a very restrictive muffler compared to my PCS 68. Getting a better muffler should wake up the little cutter a bit bit don't forget to adjust the carb after or it will run a lot more lean.

I believe the MS170 is a 30.1cc saw so I would be surprised if, what night be a 62cc saw, can't beat it. Many of these Chinese saws are not the displacement they claim. Some are 10cc less than they claim. I have 2 Joncutter G2500 25cctop handle saws, and while they have their faults, they do the basics pretty good. I also have 2 other copy saws, 038 and 660, but I haven't used them yet, so can't report as to their quality. But it looks like the Neotec has turned out pretty good.

You're welcome. The MS 250 is a nice saw 45cc and 3hp. That's very good power for 45cc, my Husky 50 (50cc) had 3hp. If you stop to think about it you're already supporting China with 95% of the stuff you buy from stores. Adding a chain saw to the mix isn't going to make it any worse. I'd like to eventually get my hands on one of the big Neo-Tec's for when felling bigger trees is required. But for now I already have ten chainsaws in my collection of varying size that need to be worked on. When I bought my MS251 back in 2015 I paid $370 US for it. So the Proyama as far as size goes is a much better deal. But I will admit that I have cut things with my MS251 that it probably wasn't meant to cut and it did it just fine for a "home owner" grade Stihl. The only thing I'm not a fan of on it is the bar oiler which is rather weak and doesn't oil a lot. So it's a good thing the biggest bar it can have is 18". Now I have a fully functioning 026 to accompany it in the woods running a 20" bar and 3/8th chain. The 026 on the other hand has a very good bar oiler as the bar oil just runs down the sides of it after use. The next saws on the list to get running are my vintage Poulan 3200, my Homelite 290, McCulloch Mini MAC 30, McCulloch 1-40 and my John Deere CS36. If you want some more nip out of the Proyama take the muffler off and see if it has a catalyst in it. If it does hollow it out so it's more free flowing and then tune your carb. It'll wake it up a bit more. If you're running quality premix oil in it at a good ratio I don't see why it would wear out any quicker than any other saw. :)

The quality coming from China is not Stihl, but some are working harder to improve their products. Our money ratio 8:1 yuan to USD.

I agree 100% my stihl ms250 has been a great saw, but at the price of the proyama and how it performs how could you not give it a try..lol I have 2 neo tecs, an 8105 with a 36" bar for milling and a ns372 with a 28" bar for bigger log work and felling. Great saws both of them!
@Slane583Ай бұрын
@@yungsmile7546 True, but I find people tend to hype their own expectations a bit too much and expect to get the quality of a $2,000 Stihl for a quarter of the price. Then when it does break they get mad at it. Keep your expectations within reason and know what you're getting. The clones are good for the money and should still last if taken care of. Unless they're the really badly made ones. The better quality ones should last as long as a entry level Stihl. There's a younger fellow I started following here on YT a few years ago. He doesn't post as often now because he's since started his own yard maintenance business. But the videos of his that originally attracted me to his channel were of his Chinese clone chainsaw he paid $75 for at the time. Those videos were from 8 - 9 years ago. He had it a year or so already before I discovered his video. So, 10 years later he still has his $75 Chinese chainsaw and it still runs just as good now. His most recent acquisition to help with his business was a Chinese made mini-excavator that just so happens to have a Kubota engine powering it. :)
