Excellent tip to reset/re-zero your turrets at end of stage. Do it right after putting the (empty) chamber flag into your chamber/barrel, zero your turrets. Setup is key, practice is life, performance is the result of doing both.

Write a list of things to do after every stage and keep in your pocket to check after every stage.

I have yet to participate in PRS competition but looking forward to it. Question, when shooting a 300 yard target and 550 yard target in the same stage, I see shooters adjust scope elevation but never paralex. Why is paralex not adjusted? Thank you for all the helpful guidelines.

Hi Travel! Great question, and it depends on the quality of your scope. When I ran a ZCO (Zero Compromise), I never had to adjust the parallax throughout the match because that scope is so well made. My Vortex Razor Gen III's (I run those now because my eyes won't benefit from the ZCO any longer) is the same way, I generally don't need to adjust the parallax unless I'm going from say 320 yds out to 1,000 yds in a stage, but even then, it's minimal adjustment. I've ran some scopes that require parallax adjustment within say 200 yds and it's a pain in a PRS match. If you watch my scope videos, you'll hear me say that the scope is a "buy once, cry once" piece of equipment, so spend the money there and not on stuff that doesn't help you impact the target at distance. Thanks for watching my friend and glad you're getting into the sport!

You shot 7 times before you checked your turret/dope?!

Hi Infamous! Ha! Yep. You'll see the stage in an upcoming video and you'll understand when you see it. Very narrow prairie dog target, in shade, all shot up, so no color, and dark brush behind it. Man, you couldn't see any misses at all, and I watched some good shooters missing and not able to see for a correction. Only my buddy behind me, looking at my trace could see that I was high. Oh well, that's the way it goes sometimes. Thanks for watching my friend!
