I've had one of these since October and love it. I wish I'd known you made this Helix patch. I did basically the same thing manually using Return #1 and basically condensed your AC30 free patch to fit on the top row. I'm not totally satisfied with how it turned out, so now I'm buying this patch.

It's still madeningly difficult to find anyone demoing an electric guitar with a piezo being played through an acoustic IR. So thanks for that. As you say, it sounds better than a great many plugged in acoustics without an IR - even high end ones.

Great video guys! I have been looking at a number of videos on this guitar. I have been considering a piezo/electric for awhile. Being a worship guitar player/singer/leader the ability to quickly switch from an electric mode to an acoustic mode is an interesting concept. As you guys know, some songs just work in an acoustic mode. The only thing that bugs me about the SE's are they are non locking tuners, but I understand you can change those out with third party machines.

PRS is now selling SE locking tuners for about $99 a set, drop in replacements. Would be better if they came with them, but not at least they are easily available.

Appreciate the patch! I’ve had a prs p245 semi hollow Singlecut with the same piezo system. I’ve tried to use this way for worship and the patch helps a lot! Curious if I should try this full hollow body. The semi-hollow sounds pretty good but I get the feeling this one is much more resonant. Have either of you played a prs semi hollow? Thanks guys

This is great! I have this guitar. I would love to get the acoustic sound that you are getting out of it but I have the Pod Go. Not the Helix. Is there any way to get the patch for acoustic on the Pod Go?

With the IR on, the Piezo sound is much better than 99% of plugged in acoustic guitars. I've kind of lost interest with PRS electrics, but this review video changed my mind.

I was first look for the PRS and watched you video, not taking much notice of the Helix, then after researching the guitar I thought I need to upgrade as I have only be using acoustic guitar live with the Boss VE-8 Acoustic Singer. I then saw heaps of video by you guys and other on the helix and was thinking I need to see a PRS and Helix video maximising the potential of the dual output. So, here I am, back where I started. I could have saved heaps of time 😆. I've got the Guitar ordered and I think I need to save up a little more for the Helix. If you end up getting this guitar, would love to see more use examples with the Helix. I'm also keen to see what can be done with vocals + Helix for some subtle harmonies. One quick questions. Do you think Line 6 will update Helix hardware any time soon, as we are coming up to 6 years? Thanks.

Such a complete review - wow! Question on the jack wiring - if you're using the magnetic only jack for your humbuckers, does the mix/piezo then become piezo only? I assume that's the case, but I'd like to be sure. Thanks!

Hollowbody construction, along with the added electronics comes at a price. Cosmetic note that they didn't mention; the binding on this guitar is flame maple too, beautiful.

How do you manage the impulse response? I use GT100 + RX500 but I’m struggling to get a better acoustic sound … problem is I’m using a Collings Parlour as my everyday instrument and I’m horribly spoilt!!

I have two other electric guitars with piezo pickups in them, and love them. Im thinking about purchasing this PRS. Does anyone know if feedback is a problem, it being a Hollowbody? After having electrics with piezo's, its hard to go without this type of flexibility.

I have a question hopefully y'all can answer, I have a Helix LT, which I didn't realize but it doesn't have a stomp mode, which means I can't access the killswitches for the electric/acoustic chains. Is there a way I can set one is the other foot switches to do this?

It's usual guitar, just plus piezo pick up in bridge. U can find that type of bridges from fishman+ Fender or other brands, and u can put it on your favourite. Or u can try Godin I don't remember the model but they have this type of guitar for year...

I have SE S2 and cores. There’s so little difference from the SE to the core it’s ridiculous. The top guys may tell you there’s a difference. But the normies will never be able to tell the difference. I love my SE’s and that’s up against my 59 custom shop ( best guitar I’ve ever played) and the top PRS lines Actually the neck feels better on SE line to me than the cores

First of all great review I ended up buying this guitar and I love it. I have an hex stomp and I know I can’t do this patch on it but would I be able to route the guitar so that I have it between two separate presets one set for piezo and one for magnetic with both volumes up where I’m using my up and down foot switch that I made to go back and forth between the two sounds

@@MrDvv1cft I agree, when I have the option to blend acoustic from my Bose L100 combined with my valve amp the sound for a one man band is amazing. Plus, the Godin uses acoustic strings that work well with the humbucker and makes the acoustic sound legit.

+++ lissen guys, this video is the full truth+++ I bought it put instantly lockings on which i ordered together with the guitar and now its my no. one all day. i have small hands but there is no problem handeling it. You must !!! try it out and i bet my a** you fell in love and want it badly. it looks like 5k and it play like 5k. This is a Bentley, no joke+++ you never regred buying it. A pedal with some EQ/verb/chorus and that IR loaded would sell a TON (hint, hint guys). The piezo signal could go through that pedal to front of house for all those not using Helix.

American equivalent is 2-3x the cost, and then you can get into 10 tops and all that at even more cost. The American version has a bit smaller body, more like the standard PRS body but hollow. The SE Hollowbody is a bit bigger.

I can hear that the guitar tries to sound great, but they seem to use a completely rubbish amp or mic or it is the strange multi pedal thing they have on the floor, I don't know. They probably mention in the chatty part, which I skipped. They should try with one guitar, a cable and a decent amp.

I got a taste of PRS's versatility when I saw Opeth using them for all their acoustic and electric parts in their live shows. You won't really spot the difference. Whave PRS's like these and still those pricey showoff Fender Teleacosutosonics eat away all the attention, idk why.

Tried this guitar twice in two different stores with different high dollar amps and there is just no life in the pickups. It is such a dead flat sound, you may as well just do the basic SE's or save up for the real Customs/McCarty's. This in between aint it. And the finish looks cheap and fake in person, like linoleum lol.

That's a deal breaker for a lot of people. This SE is a really sweet sounding guitar. But does one forgo it because it's made in China and save more dough to try to get the US made one ? It's 1K vs 6K.

@@smacker360 I hear ya. All the guitars I bought for my son are USA made. Gibsons, Fenders, PRS, Gretch. I saved and bought when I had enough money for the USA made ones. But there will be a market for guitar players that like the sound/tones and flexibility of this SE. The PRS he has is I think 10-12 years old...10 top Custom 22. Bought it used. He likes that guitar the best along with his SG but I keep telling him he gets the best tone out of his fingers playing his LP Traditional. He is a player that does not use any pedals. It's guitar to amp (all tube amps too). You are correct..there are a lot of options out there.
