I've got a laurel that's 15 feet high and 20 feet long. However it's very thin with practically no leaves on the inside. Have you any advice on making it thicker? Thanks

Reduce it's height to about 10ft or less and that should cause it to send shoots lower down to bulk out the bottom thin bits.

July-August for control of shape when the plant is not putting on much growth. Pruning in the late winter or early spring will stimulate more rapid growth.

Interesting. Thanks for posting, though would leaves that are cut in half by the hedge-trimmer not die?

Cherry laurel should be pruned by hand pruners, not shears or hedge trimmers. Epic fail.

I thought that too - until it took me almost an hour to trim a single 8’ bush. No way to avoid hedge trimmers for a job this big.
