At the end of part 1, I thought I liked the idea of shortening the apex a little more. I love the whole composition at the end of part 2! A cut can always be made later, but it can't be uncut. Certainly, a gem in any collection!

I'm not a fan of where you choose to place this tree in the pot. Don't get me wrong, most of my personal design opinions are based on me asking myself what Nigal would do in this situation. So seeing as how you ARE Nigal... and a lot of this is subjective, please only take this with a grain of salt. You often talk about how you like to move a tree to the left or right, so that it looks like the center of mass is sorta over the middle of the pot, even if the base of the tree isn't. When you have a pot that is wider than the extreme sides of the tree (the base OR the foliage). I think having the tree offset in it's old tree looked great. This worked well with the old pot. On the other hand, your new pot isn't as wide as the tree. If you measure from the left side of the root base to the right side of the foliage, it appears to be several inches longer than the width of the pot. Even though you pushed the tree to the left about as far as you could, the edges of the tree still are outside of the pot on the right. It looks like you tried to center the whole tree center of mass but couldn't because the pot was too small. It seems like trying to center the mass of a cascade style of tree on its pot, I just don't think it works. Personally when the tree is wider than the pot, I think it's better to have the base of the tree closer to the center and not try to center the whole tree with the pot as much. I think I would still have put the base of the tree on the left side, but it would have been much closer to the middle than what you chose. Don't get me wrong, I still think it looks great, but it isn't the choice I would have made.
