Thank you for this video. I learned a lot. I have only trimmed my plant a few times in the 30 years I've had it. I now feel confident enough to give it the hair cut it so desperately needs. 👍

Thank you for the lovely video! I’m happy to learn how to care for my ficus. I have one that I neglected. I would love to train it to grow up rather than out. I hope it’s not too late.

Glad it was helpful! It depends on which country you live in. If the ficus now is in its growing season and is pushing out a lot of new growth, wait a bit till it goes dormant. This is better for the plants.:)

Thank you so much for all the detail and close ups! My poor weeping fig went nearly a decade without a trim, but this video has given me the confidence to finally tackle it.

It is a tree and it grows his own way and most of the time people want a perfect formed tree but that isnt what happens with a natural living thing. Turn the plant every two weeks and it will grow different because all side gets enough light. This is a very easy handle plant, if you want new plants, get cuttings from it put it in a glass of water and the cutting will root in a couple of weeks and even in the winter time you can get cuttings. It takes a couple of more weeks for rooting but it will root. Dont be to scared about prunning but only prune it once in a couple of years

Hi, loved your video. Loved the editing and narration and the closeups of the ficus. Other videos on Ficus pruning lack the display. Definitely enjoyed your video. And thanks for the bonus tips (washing the tree). Off to prune now. All the best!

@@bringnatureinside Hey thanks for getting back to me. It's all been great. My Benjamina was out of control. It's one of those single-stem ficuses. I managed to prune it back to looking like a small tree that is not trying to take over the room. I placed small pieces of toilet paper on its "wounds" so the resin doesn't get on the floor. Thanks to your video it all went well! Is there a general rule of thumb how often should pruning be done for the Benjamina? Mine hasn't been pruned for 5+ years, so I guess often than that!

Wonderful thoroughly informative video with very soothing voice and music. I have a nearly two metre tall Benjamina. I have taken off all the dead and leggy stems. It looks like you took the top out and if so what was your reason for doing so?
@bringnatureinside Жыл бұрын
Thank you. I was trying to get that round shape for my ficus. That is why I cut the top part too.. 😊

My ficus was inside during winters near a window with indirect sunlight. It got spider webs all over(spider mites I think?) I used liquid soap mix with water for three days, then neem oil for 3 days, during evening, sprayed it all over , left it for an hour n washed later. The spider web are seen again n leaves are dried out. Shud i prune it? What did i do wrong or did the spider mites did this?
@bringnatureinside2 жыл бұрын
It is normal during winters, happens due to less humidity indoors. If possible try to give them regular showers. Pruning also helps as it will have lesser leaves.
