Wow !🥰🥰🥰🤩🤩📻📡Just imagine a typical just imagine a weather emergency radio with such a huge antenna of 32 inches or even bigger and all the desired features I mentioned,🤩🤩🤩🥰The reception would be insanely awesome. And it already sounds great 🔊🔊🔊🔊🔉🎚️😍😍😍 But with all that we would have it made I only have a boomboxe by the way. Just wow!

Hej Todderbert up early this wednesday morning thanks for the review the Prunus J-15 is very interesting love the handle on this radio and this radio reminds me of the Kaito KA-390 love mine Katio KA-390. It's been a while since I bought a new radio so it's starting to be time to buy a new one soon the weather report says it will snow today. I have to wait a while longer for the spring apparently me is on Amazon and watching this radio but one radio I want right now is CC solar take care and have a nice evening in Chicago.

This might be the one. Looking for a radio to leave on most of the time - cheap security system for a detached garage out back, haha. Music and talk for working on stuff inside, weather band for yard and garden work. Not sure if I need the SW but why not?

Thanks for the awesome reviews. I’m looking for an emergency radio like this, I don’t care for the dynamo and solar charging on most emergency radios. After watching your reviews, I like the Kaito KA390, Retkess TR604W, and this radio. Which of these (or others) do you think is the best value . Thanks for the channel.

This radio is well made. I would pick this one now, over the Kaito.

Hi Todderbert, do you know of any smaller/pocket-size radios that have the FM, AM, SW, and NOAA bands, other than the Skywave and HRD-737? I"m finding it hard to find others. Love your vids, thank you!
@todderbert2 жыл бұрын
@@BriccBalloon Many AM FM NOAA ones, but not with SW. There is the cheap Mesqool, but the Shortwave band is hard to use: kzbin.info/www/bejne/ooKre6dud7Jop6c

@@BriccBalloon the strange little hrd-700 does it. sw and wb isn’t common to be sure
@BriccBalloon2 жыл бұрын
@@todderbert Ok, I thought so, thank you for the answer! I'll probably save up for the Skywave, I like that it takes AA batteries and gets good reception. I also found out there is a HRD-747 which has even more bands than the 737, but it can't take AAs. It looks kinda cool though. Take care!
@BriccBalloon2 жыл бұрын
@@radellaf thank you! Yeah, i saw that one too, it looked pretty cool, but takes a special battery and doesn't have a headphone jack. There is also the HRD-747 which looks impressive, but also needs a special battery. Might be interesting though.

I have three or four prunus radios I do like them one thing they need to improve on is the coverage on shortwave they don't have the best of band spreads some of them start at 8.0 KHZ they need to cover a little bit lower on the band
@radellaf2 жыл бұрын
That was one of the best things about the SW version of this radio. Covered pretty much everything in 2 bands.

This radio for emergency's is by far better than the radios with cranks and solar cells as with D-cells it will run for far more than a week on one set of battery's.

I have had so many small portable radios and every one of them has failed when that tiny screw that attaches the antenna to the post loosens and falls out. Why can't they make an articulating antenna that will last?
@radellaf2 жыл бұрын
Sometimes you do have to tighten that screw, it's true. Tecsun offers replacement antennas for most of their radios.

Todderbert compares the Old Iron Man deck with the New Iron Man Deck. The crowd goes wild. Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't the tuning knobs work the opposite way? Just thinking of gears or pulleys, wouldn't the wide, outer knob be better for fine tuning, and the smaller, inner nub be better for faster needle movement?
@todderbert2 жыл бұрын
You would think that, but turning it from the Center is more difficult and makes the tuning process slower.
@ma-mo2 жыл бұрын
@@todderbert Roger that. Interesting radio!

With the aux input on this Prunus, are you going to retire your GPX R602B portable speaker?
@todderbert2 жыл бұрын
Possibly, though the GPX has done well for me.

Prunus should label this radio J-15W instead. I had no idea there was a NOAA version of this.

No, it is a simple Weather Receiver. If it looks bad outside, go downstairs and turn it on to figure out what is happening. I used a radio like this for many years. It was a welcoming device when the weather went south. Now I use a desktop Midland WR300 at Home.

This is a fine example of how to stretch a 15 minute video into 30+ minutes. The 15 second jump feature on KZbin has never been so handy.
