Thank you, thank you, thank you for such a wonderful and thoughtful reaction to my favorite song by Dimash! Sublime, indeed! The way I understood his artistic choices in this song: first, he is gently asking not to go, then it changes to pleading, then to begging, and, finally, to sad acceptance (humming). The soprano part was a tribute to the actress/singer, to whom this song was dedicated to.

I swear Dimash' breath has notes. And he harmonises these notes with the ones he's actually singing. I guess he's right when he says that his heart & his lungs are filled with music ❤️ Recently a well known Russian artist commented that Dimash' voice is an amplifier of emotions: if you have love in your heart it will get bigger, but so will sadness & anger if you're holding on to that. Which could well explain some things. And the beauty of it is that he helps you to let go of negativity, if you only will allow it ❤️ So to my mind, people not connecting with him don't need a 'different song'. They need to just sit & breathe, and allow themselves to feel while listening. No judgement whatsoever, we all have our own journey ❤️

I agree. It's about if a person is willing to hear (and many of those critics aren't that). Besides, Dimash has all kind of songs and his sound varies a lot. There are smooth sounding songs but also powerful ones, and everything in between. I am totally sure everyone could find a song they "feel" - if they only allow it. (at least one song)

Each IKANAIDE is supposed to be sung with a different emotion. The lyricist said that Dimash was the first non-native Japanese singer who understood that and did it to perfection. This song is a Masterpiece. A Canadian Dear 🦌🇨🇦💜🇰🇿

Interesting! Also I am sorry I forgot to point out in the reaction how amazing it was that he performed this in Japanese. I mean realistically all the stuff he does in English is equally impressive but for some reason the whole Japanese thing just seems harder. 😊

@@PrymalChaos The whole Japanese thing is even harder than it seems! I learned by watching some Japanese reactors that he is not only "pronouncing" the words correctly, he is actually singing it as if he were a native Japanese speaker/singer. The tongue placement alone is so foreign to speakers of most other languages that it would be impossible to pull off without insane practice and note to note concentration. And here I thought something was "wrong" with his mouth and I was so worried about him! 😉 Nope, just the over-achiever that we know and love. ❤️

Dimash for me is the best emotional storyteller, no matter what he sings.
@rodrigorra31532 жыл бұрын
My opinion is based on the hundreds of reactions to Dimash that I have heard during these 4 years. A lot of those reactions from vocal coaches, singers, musicians, voice teachers and normal people- Incredibly where I've heard some criticism that they don't connect with Dimash come from vocal coaches and voice teachers, but it's very simple to explain. Dimash breaks paradigms and unwritten rules but if traditionally followed by them and they see Dimash as an artist who denies everything they have taught, saying never mix these genres, do not do this or that because you are going to sound very bad, everything I translate that into a word called "envy." On the other hand there are some extreme fans who do not conceive that a humble boy from a country called Kazakhstan is a better artist, singer and interpreter than his musical idols, so they try to discredit Dimash by looking for flaws and saying that he does not transmit emotions and that he shouts a lot (musical ignorance). But the world is waking up and discovering this genius, who worked from a very young age pursuing his dreams of being an artist, and we are perhaps witnessing the growth and development of the best singer of all time, who has emerged in times of pandemic to rejoice the soul, bring us peace, love and incidentally rescue the music that has fallen into the hands of commercial music, of little children with porcelain makeup, of music that incites hatred and vulgarity, of bad and mediocre singers who abuse the auto tune. It is no coincidence that the name ie Dimash in Kasakh means "gift of God". I am 61 years old and Dimash excites me and moves all the cells of my body like no other artist in my entire life. Greetings from Panama.

Hello friend For me there is something that in a singer is fundamental, which is when singing the lyrics of the song know the emotional meaning of each word and Dimash has this concern. Sing in what language to sing, he knows how to interpret at all times, in such a way that you even have the feeling of seeing the words come out of your mouth. When someone sings without a notion, the words are cold, empty, without emotional significance. And yes, Dimash is a Master in everything he does. Dimash is a soul hypnotist. Nice reaction

Dimash's emotions are one of the very reason he draws me in as well as the beauty of his voice. Top it off when you see his interaction with fans and see he is humble and genuinely appreciative of his fans which is vastly different than what we normally see from someone of his profession. Just the other day he is on making a video thanking his fans. The fact I have never once heard him take credit for his success but thanks God, his family, teachers, teams and fans. In return, his fans are genuinely concerned about his welfare. One of my favorite Dimash songs is Give Me Love, which is not close to his other song Give me YOUR Love. Give Me Love is a Kazakh song, no real acrobatics, but beautiful lyrics performed beautifully. Maybe you can do it sometime.

I agree that most “popular” songs innately have less depth. But I think that another reason why Dears feel Dimash’s emotions as true and real is that they have taken the time to watch videos of him speaking, reacting with his fans, and showing his true character. When you come to realize how genuine, humble and honourable he is as a person, all of his emotions when he sings become more sincere. If you don’t get to know his character, his performances can seem extreme and potentially less sincere because he is just that amazing technically and it is easy to be overwhelmed by his technical greatness.

I agree with what you say about some people not 'getting' the emotions from Dimash's performances, or saying that he is acting it just for effect. From what I've seen so far in reactions and from personal experience (with my partner and others) I get the impression that some people don't want to connect with their emotions and reject anything that will do it for them. They remain in their logical minds, in their left brain if you will, and look to make a critique of the performance rather than actually connect with it inside their body. They cannot see the art. They don't allow themselves to be touched. It's such a shame because they are missing out on so much beauty (and dare I say it, magic) when Dimash sings. Nobody can do anything to help them. It's their time and their life to be just who they are. We Dimash fans have to let it go and simply enjoy his music for ourselves. I'm thankful for discovering him. It's made my life so much better than it was... Thank you for a wonderful, thoughtful reaction to this beautiful song. I'm glad you get it. Much love from a Dear ❤

What sets Dimash apart and makes the “connection” with so many, is his inner person, his heart and soul. When you listen to his interviews and his documentaries and start to realize the person he is, then when he performs he puts that heart and soul into his music and that really resonates with us. Not everyone, especially in our western culture, is necessarily attracted to the soft, gentle, respectful, caring type of qualities that are so intrinsically Dimash. Many people prefer and gravitate to the exact opposite personality traits, as is well shown by type of content in movies, computer games and a lot of music. Dimash type personalities are definitely not portrayed in a favorable light. So of course people who prefer that kind of entertainment are not going to “resonate” with Dimash’s type of music. To even show the kind of emotion he does in Ikanaide would be considered a weakness by some. Dimash will never have an emotional connection with many in the western nations. I read a comment by a dear that was basically, if you have eaten margarine all your life, you will not appreciate butter when you hear it. Everyone in my world, is like that. They are quite content with commercial mainstream music. In fact they don’t actually want music to make them “feel” anything deep inside. It is light entertainment to them. Not something deep, emotional and soul stirring. That is not music is meant to be. They don’t very often just sit down and let themselves be totally absorbed in a performance of anyone. That is not the purpose of music in the lives. So it is perfectly understandable why Dimash doesn’t “touch” them. What I love too is that Dimash Dears come from absolutely every age group which is very rare. Very young to very old, 80 and 90 yr olds living the same artist as teenagers and preteens and everyone in between.

He does a Chinese version of this song at his Arnau concert ( he's in a red suit that's how you know you have the right one), even if you don't react to it, it's worth watching for what he does at the end alone. When he sings "Ave Maria" you can see the concentration at the beginning and at the end he takes a bit to actually come out of the song, It's the same with "Daididau" at his Bastau concert, this to me shows the emotion is real, again worth a watch even if you don't do a reaction.

You're getting an avalanche of Dears because your reactions are so on point. He's definitely changing and evolving as he moves further away from education and more into the music that he actually wants to do. I still feel that the work he did in China is the best he's done, as good a composer as Igor Krutoy is, he's used to writing for the usual slightly old fashioned Russian market and makes too much of an statement of Dimash's vocal range, I can understand why it's exciting for a composer to be able to write music with such complete freedom of voice but instead of it blending beautifully it sticks out like a sore thumb. The Chinese work does a far better job of using the full range of his voice without the shock factor. Ikanaide was a perfect example of what he can do when he's free of expectations. It's interesting to watch the 2021 digital concert and see how much he's reworked songs like SOS to fit in with his evolving style.

Krutoy is only a small part of Dimash's repertoire outside China. His Kazakh songs, for instance, are among the very best and they are not the product of China.
@debbiemorgan8592 жыл бұрын
@@DiaLinwen oh yes, definitely. I wasn't really putting the Kazakh songs into this equation as I didn't want my post to be too long and he doesn't tend to use the vocal extremes in them, more power of voice than highs or lows but the Kazakh songs are in a league of their own especially Samaltau.

I think many Dears feel nostalgic about those Singer performances, it's understandable:) Some of them are indeed legendary as performances (SOS, Autumn Strong etc), some are just good (and then there's Uptown Funk reminding that Dimash doesn't hit the nail every time, not bad but...not so good either:):) However, Dimash has improved over the years in every way. Many of his live concert performances come close or even beat those Singer ones IMO. For example, I enjoy much more about his All by myself in his N.Y. concert - such a free, humorous and still vocally excellent performance. And SOS has also evolved - his emotions and his voice overall are in another level in his newest DDS SOS. Of course, that's my opinion, others may disagree. Anyway, it's still Dimash himself who works in all his songs whether it happens in China or elsewhere. I think it's only good that there are different composers for Dimash. One of the best is Igor Krutoy - his 'Olimpico', 'Stranger', 'Ave Maria' are all epic songs, and very complete. Krutoy knows how to compose unique songs to Dimash's unique voice. Nothing bad about that. My favorite songs from Dimash are still his Kazakh ones, those he has composed or arranged - his arrangements to many Kazakh folk songs are exceptional (Daididau, Samaltau, Durdaraz) or which are written for him. One of my favorite composers for Dimash is a Kazakh Renat Gaissin. I expect a lot from their collaboration. Artistically incredible deep and authentic songs. They don't show his vocal range or such but how great Dimash really is as an artist.

Hello, it cannot be explained with words, what Dimash gives me with that graceful, breathy, soft voice, and at the same time, with that passion, and delivery. Dimash is like a painter, of emotions.

It is not just the way he sings, it is also the kind of person he is, if you see one of his interviews you will see a humble outspoken guy well grounded in his ethics and puts his family and his Dears above all, look on KZbin for Dimash singing in the rain, you will see how much he is committed to his fans.

Daybreak Bastau, pls! You can remarque that he is most emotional when he has the audience in front of him. He needs a direct connexion with people to convey emotion.

Yeah. I had a bit of a moment when I reacted to Adagio, and while this one was clearly emotional, it didn't break me. I honestly think the crowd reaction in the Adagio video is what tipped me over the edge.

@@PrymalChaos I will always like the Adagio's performance from The Singer 2017 more that any other. There he's young and nervous and it adds to the emotion some kind of fragility

Thanks another great reaction and analysis. Dimash sang in Japanese for the first time and a Japanese reactor said that Dimash’s pronunciation was perfect. It was as good as a native speaker’s. It shows how much of a perfectionist Dimash is and how many hours he must have spent on his pronunciation and delivery. In addition, Goro Matsui, who wrote the lyrics to “Ikanaide” praised Dimash’s performance and said: “I’ve heard ‘Ikanaide’ sung by foreign singers in their native language many times. Even though they all sing great, none of them seemed to quite capture the sound/reverberation and meaning of the original lyrics and perceive the emotions between the lines. In this song, the phrase ~ Ah, ikanaide~ is repeated several times in the chorus. Although they are the same exact words, each line has a different meaning. “But this is the first time anyone has sung it so beautifully in Japanese. I happened to find Dimash singing “Ikanaide” by chance. The first thing that surprised me was his crystal clear tone and his expressive voice that conveys the lyrics of the song.”

Three suggestions in which Dimash takes melancholy songs and translates them for his audience in a passionate and wonderful way: “Daybreak” - At his first concert in Bastau: This song tells the sad story of a Chinese boy (Quon Yan), who along with his family, suffered a cable car accident in Xingyi city in Guizhou province, where 52 people died, but the boy's parents held him up with their hands and he survived, though the parents died. The song was written and composed by the boy's adoptive mother (Han Hong) and Dimash sang the song for the first time in Mandarin on “The Singer 2017”, but he had a sore throat and sang through injections. The doctor said that if he sang high notes, he would never sing again... He sang! Then he made this wonderful version, already cured, at his show in Bastau! “Samaltau” - At Tokyo Jazz Festival 2020 - When Kazakhstan belonged to Russia (In 1916/17, First World War), young Kazakhs were forced, by the Russian Empire, to leave their homes and fight 35 years until their total massacre. The story of one of these young people, who marches in despair to a war that is not his, in addition to the sadness of leaving his parents, elders, with no one to take care of and the certainty that he will never see the mountains ("tau") of Kazakhstan again. this wonderfully sad song! In addition to Dimash's talent, we have a wonderful setting and two fantastic musicians: Qurmanbek, Master at playing the Qobyz (Kobyz, which looks like a violin: An instrument of Turkish origin, sacred in Kazakhstan) the other who plays the “Rainstick” ! A supernatural journey to the plains of Kazakhstan through Music! “Adai+Daididau” - Bastau, 2017: As a traditional song of their culture, Dimash is thrilled with the audience's participation and has a very passionate delivery on stage. The song speaks of the composition of Magzhan Zhumabayev, who is considered an exponent of Kazakh literature. When in 1928 he was sent to prison, and later sent to camps in North Karelia, Russia, Zuleikha followed him, no matter where he was taken, she always found him and came to see him everywhere. She went to great lengths to get him released from prison in 1936, even asking the famous writer Maxim Gorky for help. During his prison term, Zhumabayev received the lying news that his wife had abandoned him, in this sense Daididau was written as a lament for the lost love and suffering of the nation. But contrary to what he thought, outside his wife worked hard for his freedom and in 1934 his sentence was reduced and he was finally able to return to the family.

I don't think it matters whether people think the emotion is put on or real, he still makes the emotion of the song come through either way. No-one can deny that.

One thing many Reactors fail to recognize is that Dimash's videos cover about 6 years of his work. The most viewed SOS videos were of performances in 2015 and 2016. They began to get wider viewing in 2017. But, Dimash continues vocal training to not only maintain but further develop his vocal abilities. Also, he has gained more performance experience. Also, the vocal skills judges in competitions look for are extreme vocalizing. The Dimash in this video is a more mature performer.
