Not complicated. Madhurandhagan was young when his father, the chola king died. So, crown was given to his uncle sundara chola. Sundara chola has 2 sons, aditya and arunmozhi varman, and daughter kundhavai. After sundara chola become old, aditya is said to be crown prince. But, madhurandhagan who is now grown up wants to become the chola king. His mother is against that. But, he is conspiring with the chola finance minister who is also king of a small kingdom - pazhuvettaraiyar and his brother along with kings of other small chola kindgoms Meanwhile, Crown prince Aditya and nandhini loved each other in childhood. But was separated by kundhavai since her history is not known Nandhi meets veera pandiyan later, but pandiyan was killed by aditya. She wants to take revenge and marries the old king paluvettariyar, who fell for her. Vandhiyathevan is prince of a lost kingdom. He wants his kingdom back. He becomes friends with aditya and had been given a task to meet adityas father and sister. Vanthiyathevan does that, also find secret about the conspiracy going on to make madhurandhagan as king kundhavai instead asks vanthiya thevan to bring arunmozhi varman to their palace from lanka, which he won in war recently Kundhavai also falls in love with vanthiya thevan. Vanathi, kundhavais friend and princess of a small chola kingdom is in love with arunmozhi varman. Pandiyan spies and nandhini joins hands. Nandhini also keeps track of vanthiyathevan. Alwar kadiyan is a good spy of cholas When vandhiya thevan meets arunmozhi in lanka along with alwarkadiyan, he gets to know that a misterious old woman - the mute queen keeps saving arunmozhi varman. Vanthiya thevan also meet the self dependent boat girl poonguzhazhi who is in love with arunmozhi varman. Meanwhile pazhuvettaraiyar gets consent of sundara chola to arrest arunmozhi in srilanka and bring to india. Sundara chola agrees with an agenda When arunmozhi starts from lanka, alwarkadiyan warns about pandiya spies, but it got too late. In a sea fight, vanthiya thevan and arunmozhi is believed to be dead. News spreads. Ps1 ends with showing nandhini lifting pandiya sword in hand. Ps2 premiere shows the mute queen, misterious lady swimming the sea where arunmozhi drowned. She looks older version of nandhini. Thats all.

@@Dk-cs9yu i did not see ps2. I heard that, ps2 deviates from the novel. As per Novel: the flower man sendhan amudhan is the original 'madhurandhagan'. The current and duplicate madhurandhagan is nandhinis twin brother, One of the greatest twists in the novel. Nandhini and duplicate madhurandhagan is BELIEVED to be born to mandhagini, the mute queen and veera pandiyan?! Was mandhagini, who was mentally unstable after sundara chola left, misused by pandian to take revenge of sundara chozha? Fate of a great woman. Karikala: nandhi wants to kill karikalan but doesnt dare to. When the incident happened, so many were trying to kill him in the same time. 1. Parthibendrans (vanthiya thevans friend) innocent sister manimegalai who dearly loves vanthiyathevan ( marirathnam made a big mistake ignoring this character) Says she killed karikalan to save vanthiyathevan 2. Nandhini is suspected by readers 3. Vanthiyathevan gets caught 4. Paluvettaraiyar (sarathkumar) wants to kill nandhini after knowing she wants to kill karikalan. He too swayed his sword towards them. Did he accidentally kill karikalan?! Readers arent sure. 5. The sword near karikalan was not pandiya sword that nandhini had 6. Pandiya spies were in the scene. With all.this, only sherlock homes can find who killed karikalan. The author kalki slayed the writing Very brilliant writing. Karikalan thinks nandhini was his sister, he was in a state to accept her as sister if that was true and to accept as love if not. Nandhini reveals something. After hearing which karikalan got shocked, like as if 1000s of scorpions bit at once, as author says. He empathizes, looks at her painfully, he says, kill me. Even now, its not clear, wther its pandian or someone else. Vanthiyathevan who was over hearing this, coudlnt hear anything at this critical moment, as someone attacked him. Could that be paluvettaraiyar?! Not sure. After vanthiyathevan was arrested, paluvettaraiyar saves vanthiyathevan from the court. Again, a surprise. He lays tired and weak in a cave. Nandhini serves him. She says atleast in next birth she wants to be true to him. Paluvettaraiyar helplessly gazes. Anger in one eye, longing in another. Scenes ends. So, arunmozhi varman, for everyone's surprise, throwns the simple flower boy sendhan amudhan, who is original chola blood, the original madhurandhagan. The public is shocked yet cheered that a common man is declared as king. He becomes uthama chozha. Poonguzhazhi who already accepeted sendhan amudhans true love, becomes queen. Twisty twist. Arun mozhi and vanathi joins hand. Vanathi, who was sonaive bcomes courageous woman. Kundhavai tells vanthiyathevan that nandhini truly loves vanthiyathevan only, as Karikalan was just her puppy love. She says why she thinks so. Again a twist. Manimegalai, is in death bed after she starts believing vanthiyathevan was killed. Her brother parthibendran Send message to vanthiyathevan. He wants vanthiyathevan to see her for one last time. Kundhavai asks vanthiyathevan to go. When he goes, he sees that manimegalai was singing a song, in low tone, full of love for him. When she sees him, as her mental state was unstable, she thinks that was heaven. She is happy that she met him in heaven atleast. Smilingly she sees at him, slowly loses strength, she dies in the lap of vanthiyathevan. Unknowingly, vanthiyathevan has lit the fire of love in manimegalais heart! Vanthiyathevan lost himself, shattered in anguish and pain. He could understand how true ger love was. The author says, vanthiyathevan is no more the cheerful prince of a lost kindgom, he is mature as stone, but he has no worries, as godess manimegalai lives in his heart to guide him. Novelends here. Showing how critical manimegalai charecter is. Epitome of true love. Then author explains original history as a seperate excerpt based on his research. He says aditya karikalan cud have been killed by pandiya spies as nandhini is imaginary charecter. Also so many conspiracy therioes revolve around this , where kundhavai herself cud have killed( they are not born to same mother,no such proof) 1000 YEARS PASSED. Still adhitha karikalan murder is a mystery tho there are evidences in a sculpture in a shiva temples in tamilnadu. When rajiv gandhis murder itself is a mystery to us, forget 1000 yr mystery!! In reality, raja raja (arunmozhi varman) Crowned his uncle madhurandhagan only as in ps2 movie. So, manirathnam mixed history and ps novel. This novel is way beyond any other novel, outstanding one.
