For people who have problems such as the ps2 wont read the crack disc, do the following 1 Insert the disc in the drive 2 Stab the reset button more than 10 times 3 Be patient and let it boot 4 KABOOM, ulElf would pop up Worked for me with my pal version 9k series slim ps2.Hope this helps someone

Sorry if this is a little late, but to answer one of your questions, I've tried it, and Japanese burned games with the patch do not work on other region consoles I'd assume this goes for all regions as well, but I believe there is a program out there that lets you convert PAL roms to NTSC ones (and vice versa)

It works for me for games under 4GB. I tried to backup my Metal Gear 2, the Image ISO file is over 5GB, So I use a dual layer DVD, but it does not work. Any ideas?

Im pretty sure ps2 doesnt support the dual layer format(the wii for example only had one dual layer game which was super smash bros brawl in 2009). My guess is that the game uses the entire dvd to the brim and adding the esrpatch takes it just a tiny notch over supported amounts sadly, or the free rip software that the general public uses cant use a disc to its full potential(late comment)

Ps2s are fickle with burned media. I use verbatim datalife. If you can'ts get any dvd-rs to work then your laser might need tweaking / replacing. Burned media is harder for it to read.

You should be fine as long as you set the write speed to be as slow as possible on img burn. If it's too fast it'll wear down your ps2s laser because the disk has to be spun and read faster

I am pretty sure you need a DVD-R instead of CD, both are different and the exploit is done using DVD-R. I dont know where you live but your local stationary shop or walmart should have them.

Hey great work there! I have a question. Last year i did this method and it worked well without any issue. But yesterday when i tried to play it says "the disc could not be read". It happens with all my dvd cds I've burned with this method. Is there any explanation on why this happens? Also, yesterday too, i burned a simpsons game that it worked just fine. Burned games are harder for the console to read then Oem. Might need to dial down the resistance of the laser

@@Yipper64 I ended up getting a hackable PS3. It can emulate all of this stuff natively once jailbroken to take down the DRM wall. It's also much better at upscaling to modern TV's than the PS2. I haven't looked back tbh. I ended up with 3 of them all counted. My wife and best mate were envious, you can even play online, OG COD Zombies for the win.

A bit more annoying but hey, that's the price of authenticity. I could also just use my MiSTer since its hardware emulation, but what's the fun in that?

My ps2 is SCPH 90004 with matrix infinity 1.99 Worked: Silent Hill 2, 3, 4 GTA San Andreas Teen Titans Harry Potter Goblet Of Fire Didn't work: Ultimate Alliance 1 and 2 Timesplitters (CD based) Quake 3 (CD based) Rule Of Rose The Suffering 007 Nightfire Fatal Frame 2 (even tho the first worked) Note that all these games didn't work unpatched, even with my modded device.
